  1. Southern Rebores did mine to take 83mm pistons. Sorry bud I dont have any contact details. £30 a bore.
  2. I had mine machined right down to just over 4.5kgs I had no ill affects with idle or momentum at speed. However if you are going to use a ceramettalic clutch it will literally eat the standard flywheel! I have had to have another 80 thou taken off so its now very thin and light! Thats after only 6000 miles too.
  3. I got my JE pistons from NO LIMIT MOTORSPORT a couple of years back. It appears thet you have to buy the rings separately $750ish is still cheap.
  4. What size pistons are they? You can use a standard 2.8 headgasket! I run 83mm pistons with a standard gasket and I have no clearance issues at all.
  5. I went stage 3 last Wednesday at Stealth and it was so disapointing! Dont fix what isn't broken to quote a phrase! 12 pound pulley and a front mount running 4.5bar fuel pressure. I lost 7 pound of boost and made 239 HP! We removed the I/C and replaced it with a piece of pipe and still lost 6 PSI! I could hardly make the pipe run any smoother either, hours of work and money wasted. I would stick with 8 pounds bud and save your money. I have a 12PSI pulley, belt and idler that have been on the car an hour if you are interested though.
  6. I removed mine without any problems. Yes just block off the pipes. I did leave the valve plugged in because people have suffered bad idling, but I have since unplugged it and idle is fine.
  7. I run 268s in mine and I am going to keep them when I go stage 3.
  8. Got mine from Summit Racing in the US, shipped them over with head and main studs. Loads cheaper than over here!
  9. Honing the bore as opposed to actually machining because of the 15 degree angle. There aren't that many places that can do it properly. P.S. My little bro has a 5 turbo pushing almost 240 at the wheels but hes running 4 times as much boost! Unusual using a 2 litre, impressive.
  10. £75 plus VAT and delivery from Raj at NSRacing.
  11. My 3 litre has lasted a while and I cant see that its going to fail any sooner than a standard block. Provided it is bored and assembled correctly, which mine is, then it should last. I am approaching 15k so I will let you know. It may feel a little more stress when I go upto stage 3 though but its all part of the fun!
  12. Vince mapped my VR last Friday. I run 268s and stage 2 charger. There is a definite surge in power when the cams come in which suits me fine. I intend to leave them in until I can see for myself that they are loosing me power. Besides I have never driven it any other way so don't know what I am missing anyway. Injectors where leaning off after 5.5k due to poorly fuel pump but I saw one run at 293 bhp and theres loads of torque because its a 3.0.
  13. QEP in Burgess Hill in Sussex. Search on the web Quality Engineering Products. Have done all my machining for every engine Ive ever built. Matt really knows his stuff.
  14. I run these in my 3.0 S/C, excellent value for money with good overall gains. Pig to map with a blower though!
  15. I ordered all of mine from Summit Racing in the US. Prices over here are just stupid! Arrived in 4 days too.
  16. Does it wrap around the 4 wires? If so its the interference sheilding, and can just be grounded.
  17. Any idea of the compression with the AMY metal gasket (021 103 383N)?
  18. It will probably only fit left hand drive cars
  19. VW and the ones that GSF supply are identical, will say INA on them, cost about £90ish. Part No. is 14537
