  1. Shafts off, front engine mount off, starter off and undo the box mate, job done. When you come to put the box back in get the driveshafts as close as you can to the cups, otherwise you will loads more work for yourself! Have you got a diff? I have a couple spare if you need!
  2. More braking power. Jake, heard that the engines in and running sweet in the new shell
  3. They are fairly rare over here off the shelf, but there are loads in on US ebay.
  4. Its filled with like a plastic scoaring pad type gauze yes Marc?
  5. No, mine will be different because it has crankcase and camcover outlet. Dont be tempted to pipe the vented oil misted air back into your engine. It can cause pre-ignition if you have really bad blow by and besides its full of shite anyway. What you could try is to fill the bottle with a gauze material, so the oil gets trapped/stopped before it gets to the vent filter etc.
  6. Ive never read or heard about the capacity think youre talking about cant see any difference if its small or huge. Ive got one of these which does not have a filter: http://www.teammfactory.com/products.php?category=Oil%20Catch%20Can
  7. Cheers matey might see a bit more once 2.5 exhaust / bosch injectors are in Cant wait to see yours mate when do you reckon it will be up and running What made you choose going 2.5" over 3"? Im aiming for the rolling road day on November 1st but time is ticking by and progress is slow at the moment.
  8. Is a Vortech or turbo setup less cluttered then?
  9. There is a red cable going to the plug next to the auxillary water pump. That is a switch live and is a thick enough gauge to take the additional current.
  10. Truely inspiring mate. How much was the manifold out of interest? Alex
  11. Vibratechnics all the way Ben. Those do look very similar though.
  12. Not 100% but Im sure I read that you need some parts from a Cupra R or similar box. Will see if I can find the thread but you know what the Vortex is like, needle in a hay stack!
  13. Does anyone have one of this type of shifter fitted to their MK3? Need a few pics of the base and fitting detail etc. Alex
  14. I am trying to sort out a group buy for the stage 1 kits. If anyone is interested then view the group buy section!
  15. Just to clear things up about what Andy has said about the reliabilty of the Vortechs. The BELT is the part of the setup that has the issues not the chargers themselves. This is caused by the lack of a sprung tensioner and causing the belt to be too tight! I can back this up because I had an alternator fail due to the belt being so tight!
  16. Dubpower 11/10.8mm and yes they were whoppers!
  17. Thanks, yeah PWR barrel charge cooler.
  18. Storm have got a few shot Vortechs and G laders removed from customers cars due to them being over revved, not pretty. To be honest the Rotrex charger setups are only a couple hundred quid more than a Vortech setup and I know which I preferred! It will all depend on whether you want a fast car or very very fast car. Alex
  19. The Rotrex route is the way forward as people have said. Compact, versatile, efficient, excellent value for money compared to other superchargers. I have seen them produce 500hp on an R32 and 600+hp on an R36, the chargers dont even break a sweat either. Run luke warm even at full chat. Easier on the transmission than going the turbo route also. The boost is so smooth and progressive, making the car so drivable. If you have any questions just let me know. Alex
  20. Not sure Sam did much of it though. Think Jay Renshaw did it all!
