I'd say buy a car that's as powerful as you want straight out of the box, then save and mod that. I spent a mental amount on my VR, which I'm glad I did because I learnt alot whilst building it, but it also highlighted the downside to doing it that way. It's definatly something everyone should do atleast once, but I don't think I'd buy a car, planning to up the power from the very start, again. I'll always mod any car I'll have, but it'll be quick to begin with and everything else is a bonus. Plus once you've had a 6 pot, it's morally wrong to go back to 4, ever! Haha I'm not far off as far is

Yep, different amounts of friction, front to rear doesn't agree with it Also putting big wheels on any car affects FD and the rotational inertia of the wheel/hub assembly and in extreme cases sap power (1.4 saxo's on 19s). I'd only go up 2" max on wheel size, unless you go for lightweights with lightweight brake rotors, then you could go an inch bigger again

Posi-I found a new pizza place that does their own version on dominos Texas BBQ, but 3 inches bigger, with stuffed crust, for the same price as dominos, smaller, basic base version Negi-I now feel sick

If I was going to buy a rally ricer, it would have to be a Scooby RB320, they just look right.

Evos eat £1k a pop clutches and have a serious drink problem. I know someone that bought an evo 8 and when he looked through all the receipts it had a new clutch every year!! Thought about a b5 S4? 2.7 twin turbo and as much HP as your bank manager allows

how safe are wheels after re-drilling?
xyber replied to theblueflash's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I've got a mate that's done a few sets of these. He plugs and welds the original holes, grinds smooth, then redrills to the specs needed. Like that they are solid and you'd have no worries about them failing -
name that rim thread

High flow manifold and throttle body fitted, with port matched phenolic 10mm spacer and custom mapped by Doug at MRC Tuning. Gained bags of torque all over and about 30bhp through out the rev range aswell. My favourite part is it now has more torque than an R8 RR VIDEO doesn't do it justice because blipping the throttle maxed out sound level iPhones can pic up It's also 1 year today since I got it, so bought this haha I've got the supercharger itch again aswell

Rollers are shite mate, good for getting a baseline and then after mapping, to see your gains and thats about it. so many variables to contend with from the tread on your tyres upto the equation that dyno manufacturer uses to calculate losses or simple operator error if it pulls well, fueling is good and it keeps up with other VRs then its probably in the ball park. I know a bloke that dyno'd an S4 2 days running and got a 40bhp difference between the two, just from using a different dyno and there was a thread on a Scooby forum a few years ago where a bloke had a difference of 15bhp just by c

The ISO plug is messed up or the wires are crossed. At the moment you have the perm live and illumination feeds crossed. Normally when you switch the lights on it also lights up the buttons on the stereo. Just check which is switched live for illumination and which is perm live. Easy fix with a test light You have 3 live feeds... Perm live- powers unit to keep memory settings Switched live- main power Illumination

Engine Stutter in lower revs after Engine steam cleaned!!!
xyber replied to fv8's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Spark plugs are sat in recesses, bet there's water down there. -
Screen out, worth doing as normally behind the screen is rusted to fuck where water sits behind it so it's a good chance to sort that and stop it creeping out on show on a new paint job. It's glued in so it cut out and if it breaks it's tough luck. Got to be done though. You can cheat on the rear glass. There's a tape you can get with a plastic strip on it that you slide under the seal and tape to the window. It's pulls the seal out of the way so you can get paint in there.

Me and a mate built a big boys one for the world cup and turned it into a bar. Draught beer, fridge, heat light and a big TV with outdoor speakers and a dogs playing poker picture haha. I saw it at the weekend and he's boarded it up and put his bikes and mower in it, the massive gay!!!

Don't do it! It sounds gash! You need something to filter out some of the harsh noise, vr6s are a loud engine anyway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lipFUIQizfk&feature=youtube_gdata

How low to take coilovers sensibly?
xyber replied to VR6-DUB's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
When it's too low you'll know it. The ride will be shite, hard and crashy, like I found out with my KWs, shortly before the windscreen cracked haha -
Make a Chippendale ecard with this http://sendables.jibjab.com/everyday_fun/category/dances Well funny

yeah, to be honest chrome is shite, best left in nice safe decorative stuff as there to many things that it doesnt like. if its polished you could either seal it with CG wheel guard or back along I wondered if it could be clear powdercoated, abit like when they spray wheels in body coloured paint the clear powder coat them over the top.

is it me or is this way too cheap to be a good turbo set-up
xyber replied to dman78's topic in Engine Tuning
The Canadian kit is more than likely from Audspeed. They sell cheap Chinese crap and people have in the past also received used, cheap copy turbos. Search Audspeed in Google, loads of stories
