Since I've had my car its had a slight pinking/misfire & would judder when cruising between 2-3k Rpm in 5th. I changed the impulse sensor yesterday but didnt reset the ecu - it was driving the same with the same pinking/misfire - this evening I've reset the ecu and took it for a drive, started off fine but once I got on the dual carriageway & tried to replicate the 2-3k Rpm judder it was seriously worse than before - I used to rev it and it'd be fine but I had to pull over, it'd idle fine but as soon as I pulled away it was juddering and sounding like an Impreza and had no power! I c

I've ordered a couple of things from Awesome before & they've usually been pretty good (if a bit pricey) but I ordered some side repeaters from them a few weeks ago and wasnt best pleased. 1st set arrived as a square post 96 shape repeater even though I stated to the guy on the phone that its a 97 car, fair enough I though these things happen so I ordered a new set and sent the others back. 2nd set arrived in a cardboard box, opened it and inside was a tatty little box that looked like it had been trodden on and kicked about but apart from the box, the contents looked 2nd hand aswell - bo

Has it really! A mate sent me a link to a site that has a list of the cars on it and I couldnt see them on there but it was an american site & I think the European version has a few extra cars - I saw in 1 mag that its got 742 cars! http://www.us.playstation.com/Content/OGS/SCUS-97328/Site/ Eurothrash isnt a race - its just a get together of car enthusiasts and blasting round Europe for a few days in the summer! Doesnt matter what car you've got at the ring - it all depends on the size of your balls ha ha ha I was in the slowest car out of everyone last year (3 series) some had t

When I did a ring trip last year I think I did around 700 miles - this year were going to Le mans (to watch the 24 Hrs) then to Paris, Nurburgring then Amsterdam and thats a 1600 Mile trip - tested the route last month in a diesel Zafira and it was agonising! Gran Turismo 4 is out on March 9th and has the Nurburgring on it right down to the smallest details -even has all the graffiti on the track! Only Golf in the game though is the R32 so Im gonna get practicing for the ring with that For this years trip we have the following taking part: Golf VR6 (mine) Sapphire Cosworth Escort Coswor

I dont want Mk4 Style Headlights but...
Seademon replied to Seademon's topic in Bodywork and Styling
Thanks for all the replies! I think Im gonna go for a set of the FK Powerlook lights - theres so many styles to choose from though I change my mind everyday! -
To re-set the ECU I think its just a case of disconnecting the battery for about 20 mins or so & when you reconect it the ECU will learn the changes that it picks up as it re-trains itself - something like that anyway!

Ha yeah strangers do talk to you and it feels odd! Like Sefton says Greenwich is a good night out, loads of bars with live music - good music too. Bars are open late and they are all non-smoking so you dont get home and stink the next morning! You'll never starve their either!! If you ask for something large thats exactly what you'll get!

Thanks for the replies - all the headlights I seem to find are the Mk4 style ones but I'll check out FK & Hella Andy I see your in Oprington - Im in Sidcup! You have a PM re: the wiring. -
You'll have an amazing time! One of the best places I've been to - The shoppings brilliant - not too sure if Macy's or Bllomingdales are stocking VW parts yet
-
Does anyone know a decent company that sells crystal looking standard headlights with angel eyes? I dont want the Mk4 style ones

I had my allignnment, camber & toe adjusted at Elite on Sat - brilliant service and only came to £46 - came back to me with a print out of what was adjusted and by how much etc etc. Top place, watched the rugby with a cup of tea and a bacon & sausage sarnie from the in-store cafe too! (food and drinks are cheap!)

Not sure about other VR's but my clutch is quite light and springy - good enough to light up the tires all the way through 2nd too! :0) My previous car (Calibra) had a really heavy clutch compared to my Golf. [ Edited Tue Mar 01 2005, 05:14PM ]

Straight through centre section

Ha! I think I'd have to fit a straight through system with no silencers (which Im not doing!) for it to be louder than my iduction noise - I love it though! -
It works out to about £6 a lap but you can buy a 1 lap ticket (15 Euros) 6 lap ticket (80 Euros) or a 12 laptap (155 Euros) ticket - I bought a 6 lap ticket - You dont have to do all 6 at once you can spread them out to last the day - you cant stay on the track for more than 1 lap in one go anyway, its all set up so you have to pull off etc - your car will thank you for it though believe me ha ha! Its great just looking around the car park at the cars that are there - Porsches, lambos, Ferrari's & loads of VW's! Lots of Mk2's there all stripped out and caged driven by the locals who know

Badboy - we took 6 cars and 2 bikes last year and we all spent around £250 but I didnt take my VR6 - I was in a E36 320i! Go to [link]www.eurothrash.com and have a look at the 2004 rally, we've got a trip diary and gallery of the weekend - If you've not been I cant put it into words how extreme a lap of the ring is! You'll be wanting to do lap after lap after lap!

You have mail Pete ;0)

Straight through centre section
Seademon replied to hobbsy's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Im was going to do this on mine - at the moment I have the cat, the VW silencer after that and then the 2 Sebring silencers - I was gonna remove the cat and the Vw silencer but people have told me that just by removing the cat it will be loud enough so Im gonna go just for that first of all. All I have is induction noise at the mo would just like a bit of exhaust noise etc without it being too OTT -
Ha! I done this in a short wheel based Pajero a couple of weeks ago when I threw it into a roundabout too quickly - thought it was gonna roll!

i well up for it! Went last year, going this year & I'll go next year! Should be able to do it cheaper than that aswell, in all I spent about £250! I stayed in a hotel about 30 mins away from the ring - if you want the details Pete let me know - it had underground parking etc and wasnt very expensive.
