    I've got a similar prob on my golf but it doesnt die just runs very badly on roundabout and tight corners but apart from that it flies! Its in the garage at the mo and i pick it up later today so I'll let you know what it was/is

    I was meant to pick it up today and Im out straight after work tonight so Im picking it up tomorrow morning - Im sure it will sound good though & give me a couple of bhp in with the deal - it went in with half a tank of Optimax so I'll be taking the long way home! I dont have to worry about the MOT either cos I've known the bloke whos working on it for a while and he does the testing and said there wont be a problem in passing it Hopefully he can find what causing my judder/misfire aswell - hes gonna put the diagnostics on it once the exhaust is all back together.

    The Sebring was on the car when I bought it - my whole system comprises of The Cat (which is gone now) small VW Silencer then a Sebring box & the Sebring backbox - I'll see what its like, I wouldnt mind changing it to a full stainless system but will leave it for now :0)

    I'd go for the 355 @ Goodwood - The 355 is one of my fave Ferrari's and Goodwood is the only track I've heard of out of the ones listed buts its good track to drive

    I had loads of swirl marks and dead paint on mine when I got it so went to Halfords and bought some Autoglym Paint Renovator and Super Resin Polish and it bought it all up nicely! Once its warm and sunny I might invest in some Meguiars for the Summer if it will make that much difference.

    Hi Warren - Im taking it off and having a pipe made to replace it - after the cat theres a VW silencer and after that its all Sebring but I might change that later on when I've looked at whats available but Im not going to look right now because as soon as I look at something I end up buying it & Im skint!     Me and a few mates have made up a ring challenge to see who can do the fastest lap of the ring using the Escort Cosworth rally Car with no aids like traction control etc & on medium tyres so far Im quickest with a laptime of 7.48.813 - takes some practice to get a lap time like that! Im so caught up trying to get the fastest time round the ring the only car I've bought is an R32 Skyline & done the begginer races and licenses - Gonna try and get the R32 Golf this weekend - You can probably tell that I like the game I cant wait to get some faster cars - they all handle like the real

    I was at the garage today when we took the cat off - we started it up to see what it sounds like without an exhaust :@ It almost deafened me! When it starts it really bursts into life like: BANG!!! Then a loud burble - far tooooo loud to drive! Looked at my cat - looks really restrictive inside - get the car back on Sat so I'll let you know what differences there are 8)

    Was looking at my mates cossie today - he has a K&N cone on his car and his has a hole in the back of the filter & he says its for the oil breather pipe.

    I've found that build quality of the Jap cars is no where near as good as the German cars - a mate of mine had a Pulsar GTIR & another has 200 SX - both fast but interior and general quality wasnt all that compared to my VR6. Jap cars are fast & look ok but I'd rather have a bit of under-rated style with the power not something that some chav is gonna style his VTS on. Theres something about a German car that I cant quite put my finger on - also, I find German cars have more room inside & being 6'3 thats quite handy - in my mates 200SX my knees are on the dash when someones in th

    Ooooh just-in time (get it?) ha ha sorry! I was gonna order some of these plates at the weekend from Dubmeister - thanks for the warning, one less thing I have to moan about! Thats a great site - they do look good! Does anyone know if its possible to get a set with the german inspection/government details on aswell or is that a no go on the German look plates for the Uk? The inpection/government details are the 2 round circles on the plates. I can ask them but I'll probably get a quicker response here [ Edited Tue Mar 15 2005, 08:23PM ]

    Mine didnt work on just the ambient temp but I re-set the ECU when I replaced my Impulse Sensor and it worked after that but has stopped again - you could try that? Disconnect the battery for 20 mins or so to reset the ECU

    Does sound a bit high - mine sits 3000 @ 70Mph so it wont be much more than that, definately not 4500Rpm - as Shail said his sits at 3100 so I would imagine most VR's will be around the same but if you have a non-standard gearbox it'll be different.

    Im not too sure but this has been covered a few times before - run a search for Syntha Oil on the forum & Im sure you'll find all the info you need

    Could it be the canister purge valve? I read on another post and the guy had exactly the same symptoms - my cat convertor also smells a lot when its misfiring. I didnt have the fault codes checked - just removed the impulse sensor, cleaned up the s/h one and fitted it to see if there was any difference what so ever but there didnt seem to be.
