I was caught just before I got my VR6 doing 67 in a 40 - got 3 points but I had checked how much the insurance would be on my VR6 any how and it only went up £50 which I didnt mind too much. 2 of my friends have both been caught speeding and their cases went straight to court as they were well, welll over the limit - 1 recieved a date, turned up & it was adjurned (spell check) the next time he went it was 1 day over the 6 months so he got away with it & the other mate never heard a thing & this was over 18 months ago! My FK fogs and indicators turned up today - anyone know what the little blue bulb is for that sits in with the indicators? It has its own 2 wires - what do they connect to?! Are they for the parking light or something? [ Edited Thu Feb 10 2005, 12:07AM ]

Cheers Monster - I've seen some FK ones for sale on ebay in the style I want for £75 new so I might get those - I think Awesome are selling them for £99 + Vat so a bit of a bargain! When you come to getting a set of smokes let me know as I might still have mine and their mint.

All sorted! My mate hooked it open with his tool - nothings broken - he just oiled everything up and its fine now but he did break the clips of the housing of the inside door handle (need a new one if anyones got one spare) and he scratched inside the door with his tool (oooer) but you cant see that though he says - of course u cannnnnnt! :0) Trip to VW for a touch up pen beckons I reckon!

Nah it was in the garage last night so no threat from ice/frost - I've got a mate who does car security etc so he might be able to open it but Im not sure - something must have popped off inside

Man Im racking up the new threads lately! Anyway, locked my car last night via the alarm fob but this morning went to unlock it, door pin went up, pulled the handle - nothing! Got in the passenger side, pulled the handle & nothing! Im stuck! Looks like something from a comedy sketch having to keep getting in and out the passenger side! Any ideas?

When I got my VR6 I noticed a big heavy metal bar in my engine bay just to the right of the coilpack but I could never really seem to find out what it does and why its there - today I found out that it moves my gear stick around and puts the car in gear! !dodge What the hell is it for?! [ Edited ]

Yeah I was bidding on those Stu but it looks like their gonna end up at about £60 - I thought i might be able to get a brand new set for that price! Or am I wrong? Are these loadsa money to buy new?!

Does anyone know of any uk based companies that sell decent wide fog lights that fit straight into the front bumper? Which are the best looking? How much are they roughly? Cheers!

These are the silver ones? I think the standard GTI ones etc are black arent they? I've mailed BBS Direct to see what they can do - sounds promising! Devilfish - I have the same wheels as you, was that £9 each from VW or BBS? I dont mind paying £9 for a centre cap but thought £15 was a bit much! (Tight b*stard! ha ha!)

My wheels are going in to be refurbed tomorrow & Im after a set of new centre caps to go with the refurb as mine are looking tatty but I've just been quoted £15 each cap + postage! Anyone know where I can get them cheaper than that or is that the going rate? By the sound of it they are coming directly from Germany as they arent kept in stock - that quote was from a place called Wheelpower S.E London. [ Edited ]

Hi - does anyone know/use one that has a good rep? A couple of people have mentioned Sanspeed but after they rolling roaded my mates Escort a few years ago forgetting to fill it with oil im a little aprehensive. I just want my timing chain, tensioners etc checked out and done if they need doing but would like a garage that has good knowledge of working on VR's & not some two bob garage thats gonna guess! Cheers

I wont use paypal to accept payment anymore after I sold a mobile on ebay - it all went through fine then the russian guy cancelled the transaction but luckily I hadnt sent the phone but the day after he withdrew he was asking where the phone was! From now on I only accpet cheques and Po's - I wait for the cheque to clear aswell before anything gets sent - so many people out there just waiting to pull one over on you.

I paid £5.5k for mine with 65k miles, fvwsh etc, it came with a few mods too, saved me spending out on them once i bought the car.

Well the VR6 is smaller and lighter than a BMW and the engine is a 2.8 compared to your Bm's 2.5 - may not be as powerful on paper but on the road the VR6 will win I think in every way - handling, acceleration the lot - I've had a few motorway run ins with 325's and whooped them every time!
