  1. Cheers for all of the replies! I think it does have poly bushes - they are red so probably not original VW items. Rubber wise I've got uni's at the front & Pirellis on the rear - its ok & good fun to drive but when Im acellerating through long corners/bends at around at 120Mph + things do start to get a bit hairy - it feels very light but with a bit of weight in the back it feels a lot better so I thinks just down to a stiff set up & I suppose as ACF & Warren says its just more responsive with what I have fitted. With the brake setup I have aswell I can sometimes feel the ba
  2. Hi guys - my car seems to be a little tail happy/twitchy at high speeds - is this a charctertistic of all VR6's or just mine? I was thinking that as its lowered and has the Eibach arb's etc that the chassis is very stiff making it handle like this. With passengers in the back its much better but I have had a few very hairy moments in it on high speed bends
  3. Ha I love my spelling sometimes! I know I spelt Eurothrash wrong in the title but it doesnt let me edit it.... :@ Could we sort that glitch out?

I like the front wings ie: the vents by the door etc [ Edited Fri May 13 2005, 10:37AM ]
  7. They look the same but mine arent the angel eye version though which is why I like them They look really cool at night as the glass is the crystal style - doddle to fit but mine are pointing in the sky at the mo but getting that sorted next week [ Edited Thu May 12 2005, 11:45PM ]
  8. I LOVE the headlights on that blue golf! ;0)
  9. Nah I've been flashed in the same situation a couple of times and never had a ticket
  10. My plastic cover cracked so I've had a new one made out of polished alloy as a direct replacement - should look the nuts! When I get it back I'll post details of where I got it done/cost etc with some pics. [ Edited Thu May 12 2005, 12:58PM ]
  11. Thanks for the replies guys! I have a slight rattle from around the chain area of the engine but its going into the garage next week to be looked at so if it does need doing I'll get it done - better to be safe than sorry! Im doing a road rally month which includes a trip to the ring so I want to know that its all tip top before I go :0)
  12. Probably hard to say unless you have a reciept or something - how many miles has the car done? If its a low mileage car they probably havent been done - most need changing around 100k - when you start hearing the draeded rattle you need to start thinking about getting them done - mine has a slight rattle and its done 67k but Im going to see if I can get away with chaning the top tensioner til I can afford to have the whole lot done with the clutch.
  13. I've just bought a 2nd hand pump from Ray @ Voodoo motorsport over on edition38 for £45 - just gotta fit it. My ABS isnt working and the EDL solenoid cuts in and out when cruising on the motorway. I've been told by a few people that these pumps are over £500 from VW! My abs light was on all the time but its gone out now but it still doesnt work :0)
  14. Cool cheers mate! Do you know if its quite an easy job or pretty labour intensive?
  15. Hi guys - how much roughly would I be looking at to have the top tensioner changed? Has a little rattle from the right hand side of the engine so Im pressuming it is that & its only done 67k but I havent got the funds for a full chain job at the mo.
  16. You mean like these? http://www.vr6oc.com/forum_viewtopic.php?2.57094 They come with chrome/blue/black insides
  17. Ah ok! I'll just stick to dot 4 then - taken me long enough to sort a pump out as it is! I havent managed to overheat them since I've had the car, just thought as I'd be replacing the fluid etc etc
  18. Ha! Not as handy as 4WD would do! Your cars looking good Warren - sounds like u had a good road trip bringing it to the Uk :0) Just gonna PM u need a fave!
  19. Yo! Im getting my ABS pump changed next week and whilst its in Im thinking of getting the brake fluid changed to Dot 5 - anyone have any experience using this on the Vr6? I've got a big disc conversion all round and stainless steel hoses - brakes are amazing as they are but Im going to the ring next month and want the brakes to handle anything I stamp on them! 8)
  20. That looks pretty good!
  21. You need to block off the black hose & run the clear hose down as far as u can so that fumes arent slown around the engine bay & in via your fan etc - I've run mine into the wheel arch. The actual canister is easy to remove - I just took the wheel off and then the arch liner and it almost literally fell out! With that gone theres plenty of room to fit a cold air feed - I really felt the difference in mine with one, pulled better etc.
  22. Ha I get so much condenstation it steams up my back window! Quite funny really but i wouldnt worry about it - once mines warmed up its fine, doesnt seem to use much oil either.
  23. I like................................Design 2!
