  1. AMD have a bit of a reputation for overstating performance gains from their chips, and apparently have a very optimistic rolling road. I got quoted about half that amount for a chip from Star Performance up in Scotland, I'd imagine the power gains would be very similar. You're looking at £603.95 for your suspension, you can get a set of HK Konigsport coilovers for that money. Any competant garage would be able to fit them in no more than 2 hours. My local tyre garage does laser wheel alignment for £25 inc VAT. I think you can get a lot more for your money by shopping around.
  2. Supersprint are by far the best if the quality of fit is what you're after, but if you're going to mutilate it, I'm not sure it would be worth spending out the amount it would cost.
  3. I second the nomination for Star, I'm in Aberdeen and I get them to do all my work that I can't do myself.
  4. Always amuses me the amount of people who don't want to buy a car that's been thrashed, and as soon as they get it, the first thing they do is thrash it to see what it can do. It's like expecting every girl you shag to be a virgin.
  5. Not a fan of the angel eyes, just have a feeling that in a few months, every badly modified Corsa and Saxo will have a set and turn them into the lighting equivalent of DTM exhausts.
  6. What I'd do is tell the guys where to shove their hoses and go to a more reputable company that will offer a refund if you order the wrong ones, and will likely offer you some helpful advice too.
  7. No difference at all I don't think, all Schricks should fit all VR6 engines with a bit of jiggery pokery.
  8. I quite like the wood, it's like retro cheesyness in a way, I quite fancy a wood trimmed Momo Fighter wheel to compliment the gearknob.
  9. I'm happy with Adrian Flux, £800 for fully comp all mods declared. I'm 22, 4 years NCB and 4 points for an SP30.
  10. They just look like fancy springs to me.
  11. I got a Supersprint system fitted to my car a few weeks ago by one of the top tuning companies in Scotland who are VAG specialists. I asked about getting a decat too, but they advised me against it as it doesn't give any power gains and is an unnecessary hassle at MOT time. I'd spend your money on something else tbh.
  12. Well me and the Eastside VW crew are looking into getting a show stand at the event so I daresay I'd be kicking about the area anyway.
  13. This bit put me off 9apart from extreme lack of funds): "WASTEGATE 2.5" STAINLESS DOWNPIPE (MAY NEED MODDING THERES A QUERY OVER THE LHD TO RHD CARS?)"
  14. I was told that it doesn't really matter if one is OBD1 or OBD2 as they should fit both engines without much hassle. Is that accurate?
  15. No, the oil filter is no use for a VR6, I bought one myself after Awesome said it would....
  16. I've got a RamAir ProRam, the cone is bigger than my head and sounds awesome. I went for that over the BMC as it's around £60 cheaper for pretty much the same power gains.
  17. Yeah my water temp gauge always sits slap bang in the middle after it's been running a few minutes, but I fitted a Neuspeed 160 deg thermostat at the weekend so that might not be the case at the moment. Oil temp is usually around the 90 mark, even in traffic.

  19. 6 miles between my work and my house, but there's a great big city in between too so the journey takes about half an hour.
  20. Once you've driven it, I'm sure your Focus RS will become your 2nd car to your VR...
  21. Never understood the fascination with ricers. Characterless, bland, flimsy, crap. Don't see many with high mileage on the go, because you need to rape the shit out of them to do anything and that makes them explode. They're like an ugly bloke who's good in bed. No matter how crap you are, you're good looking, and you'll still get more sex, while the Honda's will have to be content with beating off over the lingerie pages in their mum's Freemans catalogue.
  22. 1995 OBD2. I need to replace mine but my car had a gearbox rebuild a few months ago so need to check the part number against the invoice to see if I can get it replaced for free under the VAG part's warranty. Fingers crossed.

    Plates

Nah, those pads will hold the plates on forever if needed, my mate had to use a hacksaw blade to get one off his bumper. Halfords sell them for £1.20 for a pack of 3 pads, you'd need a pack for each plate.
