  1. There were some BBS valves on e-bay earlier today sitting at £4.99, looked quite cool.
  2. I think I'm right in saying that the hole in the Mk4 knob is thicker than the shaft on the Mk3 stick so it's a case of thickening the shaft or padding the hole. My mate has a Mk4 knob in his Mk3 and i think he wrapped card around the shaft and squeezed the knob on. And yes, I am talking about cars here.
  3. Well look at it this way, with an engine that's done 5000, you're more or less getting a new car for your 2 grand.
  4. There wasn't any pics on the site, but I'd assume it would be bigger than the Supa Ram one which is £20 cheaper not including Awesometax.
  5. I would've waited but I'm going to a track day on Sunday and want it on for then.
  6. Ordered the RamAir Pro Ram one from Awesome this morning for £84 + vat + delivery so it came in at £108. Talk about stealth pricing......
  7. Nice one, I'll just wait for my membership for this place to go through cos I think I read somewhere that members get discount at Awesome then I'll order it up pronto.
  8. Correction, it's the Supa Ram one that is £67.50, the Pro Ram one is £84. I assume the Pro Ram is better than the Supa Ram.
  9. I notice that Awesome-GTi have the Ramair one for £67.50, which is a full £100 cheaper than the BMC, I think I might just go for the Ramair one, we get discount if we're members of the VR6OC too don't we? Can put the £100 towards a new exhaust or a set of coilovers. Cheers for your help.
  10. Yeah they look really sweet, but at £130 for the ones with the indicators, they're a bit too pricey for me i'm afraid, not wanting to spend much more than £80 or so.

    VR'd Up Large

Aberdeen, if I went any further south to get one, I would've ended up in France. It took me a plane and 2 trains to get there, so it was quite an eventful journey, well worth it though, completely rust free, now I'm off to spunk loads of money on her.
  12. Does anyone know where I can get a set of these, or even if they actually exist? Just about every mk3 near me has the clear crystal ones, and I fancy something a little bit different and reckon black crystal ones would look a treat.
  13. This subject has probably been done to death, but this'll save me the bother of searching all morning What's the best, or a highly recommended, induction kit for the VR6? Ideally, I don't want to lose any power or torque whatsoever. The BMC Carbon one is top of my list at the moment, but wanted to see if there were any better options from those in the knows before splashing out 170 notes. Would I also be right in thinking that I can't use the cold air feed if my car has air con? Any tips/advice is much appreciated
  14. After 6 years of dreaming and months of searching, I've finally got my Mulberry Highline outside my house, took me 10 hours to drive it home from Canterbury yesterday but well worth it, I'll get some pics up when I get a chance. 8o)
  15. Where's the best place to get one of these BMC filters? Best price I've seen so far is £170, that the sort of price I should expect to pay? Is it worth the extra £100 over a normal induction kit?
  16. I've got an '87 Mk2 GTi 16v in Tornado Red but she's up for sale now that my VR is on its way.
  17. I'm the one who bought it too, I just bought it as a spare as it was going cheap, I'd be happy enough to sell it on if someone really needs one.

    Climatronic

Does anyone know what's involved with installing a climatronic unit into a VR with standard air con provided you have the actual unit and wiring?
  19. Sounds like he has good credentials then, good enough for me.

    Speed Cameras

What I found they were useful for is that they warn you of speed traps ahead so you know they're there before you see them, and it can prepare you for cars travelling in front of you slamming on their brakes as they see plod parked up in his T5.
  21. On the pic I've got, it's got rounded clear side repeaters, but I take your point about the arches, i'd presumed that these were aftermarket ones as the front ones look to be slightly blended in compared to the early Mk3 ones. Everything else seems to be Highline spec too. But it's something i'll clarify before I make the trip, if I make it.
  22. Yes, yes it is, you think that would've been the first place I looked. Doh. Anyway, what's it like do you know? You can private message me if you'd prefer.
  23. I was going to put where it was, but was scared someone sees it and beats me to it, but if it'll help, it's in Canterbury, and it's got an ABT bodykit on it but still looks quite subtle. Thanks for your help everyone.
  24. I'm sure this topic has been done to death in the past, but I'm about to buy a '96 VR6 Highline, and not being mechanically minded, am a bit worried about buying something that's not going to get me home to Aberdeen from Englandshire and will cost me an arm and a leg to repair, etc. The one I've got my eye on is over 400 miles away and I'll need to fly down so taking someone with me isn't really an option unfortunately, so does anyone have any tips on what to look for or tell tale signs of a thrashed car on its last legs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The car has a full VW service h
