  1. Canterbury - Not too far away from me :-) Glad you got it and are happy with it - there great cars but can be made even greater (with deep pockets!!) Enjoy it Mate! Pete.
  2. Ill go down as TBC Mark - i should be all done by then as i need the car for work on Tuesday :! - cant see it taking any more than Monday to do 8o) Wonder what times a Charged VR should do ?! - i reckon my cars quite healthy power wise without the Charger so im hoping for a good 250bhp at the crank 8o) Pete.
  3. Well i might be a little bit busy that weekend fitting something to the Vr but hopefully ill try to get it fitted the day after Stealth - you know what im talking about here Minty 8o) With any luck we can have two charged Vr's going down the strip side by side - me in fornt of course Hope to make it 8o) Pete.
  4. Once a clutch starts lipping as it did when you pulled away in 1st gear if you keep your foot in for more than a second or so you can take the friction plate down to the rivets in seconds - literally. Try driving round gently in the car for a hundred miles or so and give the plate a chance to bed in again - no wide open throttle high gear scenarios - you might be lucky.. Pete.
  5. My car is desperately low - partly because its on 16's as opposed to 17's - you remember my escapades getting into the MOT station Another person taking the C-spanners i think 8o) Be nice to find a set of rollers where the actual roller itself is proud of the ground level rather than the two inset rollers then we'd have no problems Im sure if Simon's VR can get on the rollers then hopefully we should be ok ?! Pete.
  6. Rich - please dont tell me youve stooped to new levels of car cleanliness by cleaning the inside of your headlights , Whats next - cleaning the treads of your tyres Pete.
  7. VR6's are known for liking a drink - try going up in viscosity - do you knw what grade was put in when i was serviced ?! Im currently using 0W/40 Castrol RS as i got a good deal on it a few months ago - im using about 1/2 litre every 1000 miles but this is due to it being to thin really - as soon as its due a change ill be going upto 10W/40 or similar.... If there's no smoke on your car dont worry too much - just keep an eye on it 8o) Pete.

    MPG

Crap round town .... Quite respectable on the open road 8o) , Dependant on your driving - ie 50/50 town and open road you should get mid to high 20's. If you do alot of town driving then as other have said expect low 20's I can average on my 14 mile commute to work around 32-33mpg on the open road if im not in a hurry..... Pete.
  9. I got mine through Admiral this year and they were the cheapest by far - around £450 ish iirc - admittedly it did go up when i asked for instalments over a 12 month period but still around £600 with all mods declared 8o) . Ill have to give them a ring to see how i stand adding a charger to mine - might even have to change companys soon Oh im 31 by the way and really should know better Pete.
  10. Its on the bottom of the bellhousing - its literally a piece of tin cover the inside of the flywheel - almost like a crescent moon shape :! As others have said its not the end of the world - just means the box has probably been taken off at some point - new clutch/chains perhaps?? Pete.
  11. The stock T5's are around 225bhp - T5R's are 240bhp, 850R's are 250bhp and the later V70R (facelifted 850 shape) were 265bhp.....
  12. Best price/supplier ?! ?! , Any increased harshness on tickover int othe cabin ?! ?! Pete.
  13. Best price/supplier ?! ?! , Any increased harshness on tickover int othe cabin ?! ?! Pete.
  14. Welcome to the forums the two of you. Misfire seem common on the Vr's - definately investigate the leads and there connection to the plugs and the plugs themselves. I had a slight light/part throttle misfire on mine a while back and new plugs cured it.... Let us know how you get on 8o) Pete.
  15. Just bringing this post back up did anyone get a price for the VF Engineering mount ?! - i need to get either one of these or the vibratech one..... Pete.
  16. Why do you think you cant run an atmo valve then - just make sure you get a Bailey DV26 twin piston - it might run slightly rich during gearchanges but thats about it - plenty of MAF cars running atmo valves including my old Saab 8o)
  17. Funniest thing some time ago was me coming back on the A27 nr Arundel in my Saab loaded up with the back seats folded down with a set of wheels and loads of other car parts in the boot - i had a V70R Estate in the Goldy/Bronze colour come hammering up behind me after bullying a Honda Prelude Vtec out of the way - of course i had to show him the error of his ways - he got he jump on me initially due to his car kicking down a couple of cogs but once my T16S came on boost - bye bye 8o) - he was well up for a rumble and it was all in good spirit but i think he got a bit of a surprise - all the
  18. FAT!! Almost did a double take when i saw the front of it - looks identical to mine - 3 bar debadged grille, Hella Smokes, Early VR spoiler - nice 8o) ...... Did you fit the VR sideskirts or were they on the car already ?! V. nice car mate Pete.
  19. Floorpan box sectioons near the wishbone mountings - or alternatively the wishbone-chassis mounting points are pretty substantial... Pete.
  20. A: Jacking points B: Subframe C: Box sections
  21. See ya there 8o) , Ive already offered "Old Binny" a room for the night so lets see if we can persuade him Pete.
  22. Flowed ported and skimmed, Ashley 4- 1 mani and system, Mangoletsi inlet manifold with Weber 45's with 38mm chokes - 155 mains iirc.... Ran a Golf 1300cc dissy on it for advance and retard... Made 185 at 7100rpm and 150lb/ft at 5000rpm ish at Gerald Dale Motorsport in Hastings - loads of torque. Was about the 4th quickest British Mk1 at Inters 2000 - ran a 14.4 uphill with an open diff and fryed clutch - 60 was 6.05 secs 8o) Pete.
