  1. I sold my 94 VR6 a month or so ago, with 121K for £2600 (i advertised at £2900). Sold it just through a few website ads eg clubgti and this site. Actually put it on autotrader just before it sold and i was swamped with calls the moment the ad got in the magazine! Ended up thinking i should have asked more for it! Deffo put it in autotrader, thats what most people look at, guess location has a lot to do with it and maybe why youre having probs! Was a good car, and im missing it, especially as im being so slow getting my new car on the road
  2. Cant wait for the drive home on Sunday! Gutted to be leaving the VR6 community already though, dont know of many www.1.8TMK2OC.com sites
  3. Well, I paid 4k for it. Hard to place a value on a car like this i guess, but seeing as a basic conversion seems to cost 5-6k, it seemed a good price to me.
  4. Re: selling the vento front end - id rather keep it on because its freshly painted and mint, the old golf one is pretty ropey. but if i do decide to sell everything seperately ill PM you! Re: the new purchase - WOW! Its running 205bhp and 205 lb/ft torque, so the figures arent far from a good VR engine, but it was a lot different to drive! Yaz drove it around for about 5 mins really gently off boost, and it felt a bit lame. The sweet tones of the six pot were glaringly absent, and he said it had a dump valve but i couldnt hear anything, no turbo spooling up either. So it came as quite a shock
  5. Here's my new toy! I pick it up next weekend I think some of you may know the car already, a guy called Yaz is selling it, and he goes to the junction 29 meets. Its a quick car!! Every silver lining has a cloud though, and i really cant justify running the new MK2 and the VR, so as much as i'll miss her, the VR is up for sale &| Have a look in the classifieds for more details. Its been a great car, but ive just wanted a change for a while. Decided to stick with good ol' Vee dubs though!
  6. Mine did this as well, garage sorted it for 50quid. They said a bit of wire was gunked up and sticking. All they did was clean it off and its fine now!
  7. Dude, theyre all good! You can get air con and leather in non-highlines, personally i wouldnt pay the any extra for highline status. Later VRs have cosmetic changes, the wheel arch trim is lost and bumpers are colour coded, which looks nicer in most peoples opinions.(i think this is 96on?) Some favour later OBD2 cars, wouldnt bother me OBD 1 or 2. Not convinced one sort is more powerful. Strong engines, should go for ages. Worries of timing chains breaking at some point and some recommend changing these at 100-120K. I wouldnt buy one without FSH. As with any car, try to suss out if the cars be

    New GTI ad

    Lol! That is brilliant.

    New GTI ad

How cool is the new Mk5 GTI advert on telly?!! Does anyone know if its around on the internet to download?
  10. Ive heard people say its a fair old hassle to fit US turbo kits to LHD cars, they said its about 2grand of parts/labour to get it to fit. If i had a RHD car, especially if its 4WD, then ditto: US turbo = forgone conclusion!! O and presuming i had some spare cash!
  11. In my opinion that is a definite SCAM and i wouldnt go anywhere near it.
  12. Good decision i reckon, spend a bit more and get something youre really happy with, enjoy!
  13. There were some mint looking E46 M3s the other week, buy it now price something ridiculous like 5 or 6K. I dont get it, must be some sort of scam?
