As some of you might or might not know ive have increasing levels of chain rattle on my VR6 for some time. After getting quotes of around £500 for the job inc getting a new clutch i decided to investigate the top end of the engine for tensioner rail and tensioner guide rail wear. Id already bought a new guide rail as i know this is the piece that is the weak link in the chain so upon gaining access to the chain guide i was surprised to see it in mint condition with only minimal signs of wear - whilst it was all apart i replaced the guide rail anyway as its only two bolts to remove the old one.

Or they get louder when the wadding gets blown out of the silencer :-( -
Nice Mate - i say that one on the right looks familiar 8) Good to see the kitchen worktop being used to its full capacity Pete.

Looking much better now Rich 8) Loose the eyebrows and it'd be peachy
-
Ill tell you what guys - ive just been out driving it hard for the first'ish time today and its worth it just for the noise alone !amazed Sadly though it still wont hold of a Very modded Skyline GTR - but we knew that anyway and it was fun trying Pete.

Mark - i know someone who's got a a set of 288's - he wants to swap for a set of 280's 8) Let me know if your interested Pete. -
Tbh Evil - your better off geting one off a Ford Cossie - admittedly they are not rising rate (they're fixed rate) but they are made by Webber and are V. reliable and you can get them from Ford breakers for £15 8) Pete.

I think you knw the answer to those questions Rich 8) Bloody well and bloody awesome are the answers (as if you didnt know )... Guess if you can make it to Santa Pod this Sunday you might find out 8) Pete.

Owes me a load of grief and about £1250 all in. I repeat thats £1250 - or about the same as a Schrick - and did i mention the missus knows nothing about it Pete.

Pics:- Yeeeaaaahhhh Baaabbyyyyyy 8)

Yep you cant argue with a supercharger 8) Prior to this i had a Miltek cat back system and although it didnt make any noticeable difference apart from slightly better low down pull it helps pave the way for further mods. Dont bother with an induction kit - just drill the airbox on the side furthest away from the engine - i did this on mine and it sounded sweet on the rolling road 8) Pete.

Very unreliable. I had one for a short time on my Saab turbo - they do the job in hand but have numerous problems in operation. My fuel pressure after being rock steady for months crept downwards over the space of two days by about 15psi - so much in one day that upon entering a multistorey car park the thing was splutering so badly that i could barely make it up the ramp... I had a inline autometer gauge on mine so i could check pressure regularly - i needed it too Dont really think its neccesary on a non turbo/forced induction car - and on a emissions controled car like the Vr - youll pro

Im pretty sure the 312's i saw at Stealth belonged to someone on here - obviously Speedo now 8) . I knew i saw them Im probably going to go down this route myself - cheapest way to good brakes. As for upgrading the 280's to 312's you nned to get a set of 288's first then upgrade to 312's from them - you cant do it from 280's Pete. -
Got mine from a certain member of this forum - mightyvr6 (Ben). Just so happened he was upgrading to a Vortech so i jumped in and made an offer on his ZR2 set up..... Pete.

Cheers justin - ill do that tomorrow at some point 8) As for the pod on Sunday - i really want to make it - just got to persuade the missus its a good idea too as she is currently voicing those two letters that every chap in a relationship dreads to hear - QT = Quality 'F**king' Time ~ Obviously i was away all last w/e and she thinks this weekend is devoted for me to be nice and lovey dovey to her Ive already offered to drop her at Bluewater/Lakeside for some 'retail therapy' but surprisingly this doesnt seem to be working Plan B - is to tell her im going anyway Pete. Pete - tbh its driving fine mate - ticks over ok and doesnt stall etc . Whats the procedure then ?! - if things go pear shaped maybe ill have to revert to this.... Ben - its been a challenge Pete.

Tommy I quite literally shat myself this evening. Got the ECU back from a former electronics engineer (top bloke by the way) with the GIAC stage 1 chip in the GIAC chip carrier (basically an extra mini raised PCB with a chip socket on it) - pluged it all in to the car and turned it over but it wouldnt fire..... Thats about when i soiled my pants for the first time. Right i thought - ill swap the GIAC chip for the original to rule out any probs with the Stage 1 chip - plugged the original in and - NOTHING - i really shat myself now and had visions of needing a new ecu Just about resigned myse

Chargers up and running and ive got a big grin on my face 8) Cant beat the noise and the kick in the pants at 4000 and again at 5000 rpms is addictive. Glad to be back with forced induction again Ill take some pics tomorrow as tonight has been a bit hectic Pete. [ Edited ]

Still dependant on me getting my ecu back from having its chip carrier soldered in Hopefully ill make it 8) Pete. -
ECP = Euro Car Parts - yuoll be using them lots
-
You need good reflectors really but you could always try new lenses (£25 each from ECP), upgraded loom and decent bulbs first - i got some Osram Silverstar today which are supposed to be superb (Zenon gas) - they came first in a massive Auto Express test a while back 8) Pete.
-
Rich - why bother - i just used to cable ties to secure the leading edges of the splash guards to the subframe iirc. Been like that for about 3000 miles now - no problem 8)

The E36 3.2 Evo is very low 5's - 3 litre non evo is still low 5's to 60.... As for the Rado's being alot quicker than the VR6 - maybe against and early obd1 car - but obd2 Golfs have been proven to kick out 185bhp+ - witness the rolling road day figures - my car has just under 160bhp at the wheels with a Miltek cat back exhaust (still have the cat fitted) - doubt there will be anything in it power wise against a 2.9 Corrado and the way i reeled in the Corrado on the way back from the Festival proves my point - probably down to driver skill as much as anything else. I also think that driving a

Saw this for sale on one of the forums - youve got a good deal there and iirc the price was around £400?? I had a KR 1.8 16v on carbs a few years ago when the conversion was coming of age (i am 31 by the way) - great car and for smiles per mile you cant beat a mk1.... As for turboing it - it will be very quick but iirc youy will have to get a complete Ke jet injection system to run it on - if it was mine i wouldnt bother - just run it on a set of sidedraft carbs and youll have more than enough power 8) - it will also be alot easier to rig up thefuel system as you wont have to bother with a h
