  3. Well your just too sharp for me this time of the evening mate
  4. I think the fogs might be MHW (make colured lights etc for Golfs) - not sue who the indicators are but i know there German... Ill have a look tomorrow Pete

Bout 100kgs heavier than the Golf iirc, The engine isnt that much lighter than the VR as its a cast iron bottom end - same as the VR. They top out about the same as a VR6 due to drag - especially with the 'tail but how many run standard boost pressure - not many i would wager 8) Pete.
  6. Not only listening to him mate 8) - plenty of other kicks available - learnt alot about music from him though and im sure alot of other peeps the wrong side of 30 on here also did Pete.
  7. Bit of a tribute going on over on Radio 1 at the mo..... Hopefully it will highlight the diverse range of music he played 8)
  8. Claire, By all accounts his music spectrum was huge so i doubt you hated all the music played and liked by him 8) - he played hip hop, reggae, punk and everything else in between and he was bringing Punk ot the masses via Radio when Rock was the done thing. I used to listen to 'The Peel Sessions' in my youth and he was responsible for me listening to 'The Smiths' through my adolescent years. He also got such bands as U2, Nirvana & Pink Floyd and many others there first airplay.... The guy was a legend and will be sadly missed. Gutted. Pete
  9. A sad sad day..... The veteran DJ John Peel has died aged 65. He suffered a heart attack shortly after being taken ill during a working holiday in the city of Cuzco, Peru, with his wife Sheila. Peel, a much-loved DJ champion of new music over three decades, presented the award-winning Radio 4 programme Home Truths and a late night weekday show on Radio 1. The Radio 1 controller Andy Parfitt said: "John Peel was a broadcasting legend. I am deeply saddened by his death, as are all who work at Radio 1. "John's influence has towered over the development of popular music for nearly four decades
  10. Great news Claire - The club could do very well publicity wise out of this - best you get ironing that banner claire Pete.

    All over...

Bad news Mate - thats the one nasty thing about owning a VR6 - every Chav wants a piece of it ~ , Let us know where when and how it ws stolen - any pics would be good - what did it have - ie wheels etc - f anyone gets offered bits or see's the car in question we can let you know... Pete.
  12. Quick piccy 8) Ill get round to taking a few more when its clean We just got back from a 150 mile round trip over the weekend so its a bit dirty but you get the idea Going in for a charger overhaul in a week or so - its not on deaths door but its not boosting as it should - only running about 9psi and thats with a chip and pulley - should be more like 13 or 14
  13. Ooops - so he did - my mistake , Cant you get the valve caps that need a release key to remove them??, Otherwise Rich you need to put them on really tight - ie nip them up with a pair of pliers so that they cant be undone by hand - obviously you can carry a pair of pliers in the boot 8) Pete.
  14. Best i secure mine in somehow - especially in the presence of Rich next weekend I suppose the only way around this is to fill the removal holes leaving wheel removal as the only way of removing the caps :!
  15. Nice car chap 8) Im inclined to agree with you - if it was mine id remove the arches and skirts and possibly the rear spoiler , It would look luuuurrrrvely on those ABT rims with a nice suspension drop 8) Pete.
  16. I got them from GPC - i think the fog units are about £90 the pair - then the indicators about another £25 the pair iirc. PErformance solutions do them - look in their advert in most of the Golf type mags.... Pete.
  17. I will get round to taking some pics of it this weekend - been busy on it today - neeeded a heck of a clean as it was filthy inside and i had to compound out 3 massive bird crap marks on the bonnet ~ Apart from that its in good nick - got a lovely Stereo in it too with Fosgate componenets up front and Infinity 6x9's in the rear with a fan assisted amp in its own enclosure in the boot 8) - choice ..... Want to get the 17's refurbed or possibly look for a set of BBS splities - all depends on what 'The Boss' wants 8) 8) Pete.
  18. Why not go for some like mine ?! They are the wide euro look fogs - smart eh 8) Pete http://xs.to/pics/04105/VR6002R.jpg [ Edited Fri Oct 22 2004, 03:44PM ]
  19. Going to get my chains done in the next couple of weeks as the dreaded rattle is starting - car has only done 102000 miles ~ Been quoted 8 hours labour to do the job - im getting a new clutch fitted whilst the box is out - be silly not to. Was thinking about doing the job myself as ive got a garage full of tools and a hoist but tbh i cant be bothered crawling round underneath a car for the sake of £250 labour 8) Im too old for that now Cars booked in the Monday after Stealth 8) Pete.
  20. Have to disagree about the Toyo T1S's being poor in the wet Andy ... Ive had them on 3 cars and wet weather grip is fantastic - fantastic feel and progressive when they do let go - wear rate is not great admittedly but you cant have everything can you ?! .....
  21. For the Missus mind - but what the hell 8) 1992 facelifted car with the nicer interior (black) and the 'humped' bonnet - 108k miles with history, got 17's on and sublty lowered - not in your face. Two dubs in the family now - watch my bank account bleed Pics tomorrow 8) Pete.
  22. Sounds like the UJ's in the steering column binding up to me - either new ones or try lubricating them... Pete.
  23. £2000 is a bit of a bragin really. If you work out it costs about £700 ish to do timing chains on a VR you got a good deal 8) Pete.
  24. Think you really need to check its wired up correctly before removing the glass itself. My Drivers side mirror has stopped heating since i had my respray ~ - funny that..... ~ ~ Pete.
