    4got to say-you need a pump off any vr variant as if not it will underfuel.

    to chuck some light on to your problem....i was driving along in my old vr and IT just died.turned over as like yours.fuel pump died.to test get it out of the tank,which you will have to do anyway is its f**cked.put a direct feed to it in a tray of water[safety] and see if it pumps.

    i had a standard obd1 that made 181bhp/180 torque with 130k on it.a cheap mod to put more air in the engine would be to get a large cone filter and plumb some cold air feed piping to it.done this with the sc vr and it feels more livelier!

    think the idling issue relates to the isv need a clean with carb cleaner.the other fault as steve said is best to start with vag com b4 u start chucking money at it.

    you could be devious and bridge the plug in connector on the resovoir,but keep an eye on the level!

    did 14.4 on my 1st attempt at gti this year.dunno the speed?minas old bus.only used 1500rpm on launch control.3-4k set off should knock a second off?specs on hear somewhere?

    had mine up to 140 1n 4th doing 5k,on a private stretch!thats fast enough for me-but have 2 more ratios to go-lol!

    mine used to come on at full throttle.5.5-7k b4 it packed up.should see a burst of white smoke in this rev range.vince said it was designed to work at full throttle.

    symptoms of starter.if you try to a rolling bump al bet it starts.this confirms the starter fooked.

    its a common fault on vag cars where sodered joints on the relays fail.glad i could put you in the right direction.

    the car that i bought of anorak made 303bhp and 278 torque at stealth in dec 04,its fitted with the later black dash-maybe thats why its got an obd2 port.it should have a blue dash and an obd1 port.want to jump from 8.5 pulley to 12/14,but a bit dubious of those maps,mafless or not!

    got the stealth/gemini box-states 1st,2nd are standard vr and 3-6 modified[has an end casing on to accomodate 6th?].

    in standard form a vr has a shit load of torque compared to its modern rivals[170-190 depending on health/run in],as they soon find out.the standard suspension lets them down.but sc/turboed with suspension set up its a match for most of anteras list.
