    as i am keeping the car long term i am interested in the above.could anybody tell me where/how long and how much?the charger is a vortech v2 sq.ideally someone in the north,but i am willing to travel for the right expert knowledge.was gunner make enquires at stealth? cheers in advance.

    the stalks that go around your steering wheel have copper switches in them.one of these will have signs of melted plastic on them.

    remove steering wheel and indicator/wiper attachments and you will find a blob of burntout plastic on one of the attachments-replace asap!

    deep pockets are required for this one,or buy one with all the mods on and sell yours.brakes,susp,arbs,gearbox/traction are all a must to compliment big turbo/sc power.schrick manifold,248 cams,throttle bodies,stage2 s/c will put you in the 300bhp bracket.go on www.edition38 forum and pick greenyturbo's brains-running a vrt with 377bhp at the wheels!OMG!

    got a mocal oil cooler on the vr.never been above 100 degrees even when canning it.runs in mid 80s most of the time.carnt get below 20mpg even when the chargers been howling,but the fuel gauge does plummet!

    i did a vrs in my stendard vr[181bhp/torque].like u say above 70mph left it for dead! did the same to a 911 carrera4 in the s/c vr.thought it might be a close run thing?dropped 3 cogs to 3rd,70mph to 120mph 3rd,4th,5th.left that aswell!must av been dissapointed with his 30k porker when a 12 yr old golf smokes him!LOL.

    from a s/c point of view,it depends what fuel you have when u get mapped.that 95 stuff is poor.97/98/99 all the way!

    try putting your mits on the alloy housing when your engine has been running!you'll end up with kebab hot fingers!ps gloves might help!

    straight forward job jacked up/ramps.no oil loss as the sump is lower than the cooler.make sure the engine is cold.10 min job.

    new set of O rings from the dealer,common prob.but do it when engine is cold.about a tenner IIRC.

    i have one.cannot tell the power gains,but must aid torque?if i were you save yer wonga for a charger/turbo.as these are best power increse for your dosh then start adding BVH if your want more power!

    got a copper spaced head gasket from stealth for s/c mk3 golf.CR is 9;1.with an 8.5psi pulley.

    200-250miles on a tank full of super-unleaded.this is with a mix of hard/steady driving.the performance is poorer with normal unleaded.

    has it got aquamist on it?as the aquamist sprays distilled water into the inlet to cool the atomising process down when on full throtle.i get a burst of white smoke.

    i get 20-30mpg for daily driving.but as said-start planting the go pedal and figures will drop dramatically,around 15-25mpg.on a long motorway run 35ish.the 6th gear helps a lot though.but you dont go charged to drive like your grandad!
