  1. kev i have a 9;1 CR with a copper spaced HG.it is making 278torque/303bhp.the blower is a vortech v2SQ.the block is obd1 bored out to 2.9 by stealth.think i will have to take green with vince?
  2. i think i will be speaking to vince about the 12psi pulley,no maf and remap. !lol .hope that an extra 3.5psi should pull some more 'useable 'power out of the vr. 8) .is 350bhp attainable safely with 12psi pulley or can u go smaller?
  3. just wondering jake,what is needed for stage 4/5?i have the 248's,shrick vgi,aquamist,green injectors,walbro,throttle bodies,v2 blower.running 8.5psi pulley.the head gasket is a copper spaced one.what safety measures are required.is it just a smaller pulley and a mapping session?cheers in advance! anorak the previous owner tried a smaller pulley[11psi] at STEALTH.vince said ther was concerns of spiking at full throttle although it made 320bhp on the rollers,he said keep the 8.5psi pulley on to keep it safe?
  4. if the vr has forced induction does that that mean a level playing field with the PD?as kev says taps are off at 4.5k.you can see why people buy them:economy/value for more/performance.if you aint got the vr bug buy a diesel!
  5. use optimax/ultimate all the time.put some normal unleaded in,seemed down on power?reverted back to superunleaded and the vr seems more responsive/aggressive on acceleration as soon as you blip the throttle.putting nowt but superunleaded in from now on.

  8. there is a meet organised from someone from E38 at squires cafe at sherburn-in-elmet,its on the a152.good links from the A1,M1,M62.the meet is on 23rd feb at 7.30pm.think i will be taking my s/c vr along 8) .is petesvw going along?any members of the vroc are welcome.the guy on the E38 forum says all dubbers are welcome. .

    remember annorak telling me his old bus timed a 0-60 of 5.4secs with launch control.in service history it did a 0-60 at santa pod in 5.7secs.those strip times [1/4 mile,0-60,0-100] dont do the car justice when driven aggressively on the road!
  13. though the 248s were the best thing for a s/c vr.when the shrick gives up the cams start cooking,although the charger starts to boost at 2k all way up to redline in unison with previously mentioned mods.see vince for a deal on part ex of your 268s?
  14. ok.inspected my cold feed set up.it is a ovular metal gauze filter with 2 end plates bolted to the s/c.i could take it off and feed a pipe to it directly from the inner wing or leave it asit is and fabricate some ducting from the innerwing and bottom grill?as it is now its just pulling warm air from inside the engine bay.with 2 cold air feeds blowing on the filter i should see some power gains?

  16. has anybody had any success with fabricating a decent cold airfeed for a s/c vr? not a lot of room in the inner wing for the air to feed the charger?dont really want to stamp the bonnet directly over the charger to feed it with air as it draws attention to nickability!but it may provide the chargers' greed for cold air.is it worth fabricating pipework from the lower grill with non heat soak pipework?any ideas? thanks in advance.

  18. those scoobys dont have anything on my vr-cornering-power-torque. wouldn't mind comming up against an rs to see how good they are?bluefin and catback,cannot see much being in it?the rs seems a well set up package.

  20. best off pm sparkz-s/c mk2. he like me is running 2.9 with other mods.in my opinion you need the brakes/coilovers/arbs.using a 6sp gemini/stealth box[2-3grand i think?].cannot stess how good the racelogic t/c is.it REALLY DOES put all the ponies down on the tarmac!all 303 of them. !lol
  21. i would think a modded focus with that trick lsd/racelogic tc would be an even match for a s/c vr.have not come accross one yet but the rs standard smokes a standard vr?
  22. also had some new rubber on the front.pulled to the left b4 and after,but tyres have worn even b4 and after.
  23. i had a rear passenger wheel bearing replaced as it was droning.youdid themup correct-tighten up until nipped up and then 1/4 turn slacken off.the s/c vr has been through various bearings front/rear in the last 18mnths!got the front drivers one droning now?replacing 2morrow.i would assume they take some punishment-braking/accelerating/torque?can you source uprated ones?
