  1. Had to happen really as there are fewer and fewer VR's, demand isn't great enough to justify production. Shame...
  2. The clocks could have been changed by the previous owner. If the car has already been registered as an import, the insurance company would have been aware of this when you insured it, but I don't think it would have mattered for a claim, as the car is also an official import. Best way of checking is to take your chassis number to a dealer and they will tell you where your car is from. Or they should be able to!!!!
  3. He probably developed in the same amoeba pool as Mr Clarkeson!!!! lol
  4. New V5's are coming out, old ones are blue, new ones are mix of blue red and orange!!!!! NICE!!!!!
  5. So .1ltr extra capacity, fancy pistons and big valves equals an extra 10 to 11 bhp over my car!!!....Hmmmm AND SOOOOO expensive...get a supercharger, forget N/A, it's the way I'm going...eventually..... Just thought, supercharger and IBT's with an exhaust...wonder what THAT would sound like!!!!!!!!!!! If it could be done!!!! Now where PARKY when you need him!??lol
  6. I agree, sound would be Awesome, but oh soooooooo expensive for the returns you'd get.
  7. LOL That's extreme, as you will get LOADS more torque!!!!!! Get a decent exhaust and cone filter, or panel filter with the air box drilled out, and that should be enough to counter the slight loss in your original torque level, in fact it should increase SLIGHTLY!!
  8. Also check your front discs aren't warped.
  9. It sounds as though it is definitely an import. The V5 should say "first registered" 2000, then there should be "date of manufacture" 1997, hence the R plate on the car. But to answer your "can I put a 2000 plate on?", the answer is NO. Sorry.
  10. I don't have the Schrik inlet manifold, but I have the rest of your mods and I have dyno charts ranging from 199 bhp and 200ftlb torque to 210 bhp and 206ftlb torque. Not sure that the Schrik would add that much more, probably smooth it out a bit better. Don't forget you will need to de-cat it and re,map it, otherwise it's a waste. If your serious about ITB's, when you've got the head off for porting, why not increase the valve sizes as well, maybe look into flowing the throttle body also (but some say you need some sort of turbulence, so don't go too mad). ITB's will they add more power?? no
  11. Won't you need the keys as well??!!
  12. OBD2 from late N plate, there is a thread on here showing the differences, worth a look, also show where the improvements are made....
  13. No not quite. OBD2 responds better to tuning than OBD1 does. There are reports of later cars making more power, but not because it's OBD2 more because of improvements in engineering. They just happen to be OBD2 cars. Lets see what others say though!!!
  14. Is he welding from the inside or out? Ideally he needs to do both so you don't have a recess. but if he is just welding from the inside, fill in the hole with copious amounts of underseal. Use the tar type stuff, won't need to paint over it as it never sets!!!!
  15. Thats for registration.sometimes the insurance companies want a report. Anything they can get to screw you over for more obey, or not pay out on a claim!!!!!
  16. I did it to a Lancia delta years ago, needed a report then, but times have changed, give em a call and see what they require.
  17. Oh, I assume you've also uprated the suspension, the brakes, hubs, driveshafts etc, cos they'll be looking for that as well.
  18. You need an engineers report saying that the engine has been fitted correctly etc.Generally you take it to an independent garage and their MOT tester will check it over. If your friend is a qualified mechanic, can he not do it for you, or know anyone that can?
  19. Flash git. 2 or 3? and what happened to the one from work, we all went to sooooooooo much trouble trying to win that for you and never got to know the result!!??
  20. Is tapatalk some kind of app then?
  21. I'm sorry, but I would loved to have been a fly on the wall when you realised the fuel line was on fire!!!!
