  1. I was going to suggest the throttle body, but you’ve cleaned that. Have you had the throttle position sensor read on vagcom? I had this issue with my VR sometime last year, had the throttle position sensor read and it was faulty. However, the fault was with my coil pack, ONLY when it was warm. It seemed that when it was warm, the casing was expanding allowing the minute crack to open up and allow the coil pack to arc out. Get the engine warm, and spray a mist of water to see if anything happens, if it misses your coil pack is flubbered!!!!! Best of luck, electrical issues are always a pain i
  2. I was also going to suggest checking the plug for a break etc, as Lukey says for NO spark on any plug is unusual
  3. VERY nice. you must be well chuffed.
  4. Silly question, Have you tried turning all the blower controls to off to see if the noise disappears?? If not, it could be a bearing in the fan motor running a bit dry....
  5. Don’t get me wrong, I WANT the golf to win, why wouldn’t I??!! And yes against the 2.5 you should win, the 3.0 manual, no chance, even the auto is doubtful, maybe for the first 20mph or so, but yes peole often underestimate our lowly 2.8 VR engined beasts as an old golf!!!! good aint it??!! ;-)
  6. To be honest, it may have been the driver. The 0 - 60 time on one of them is a bit better than ours, they come in at 5.7sec where we come in at about 7. with your mods you might be lucky and see 6.6ish, but you will be very lucky to see it. Was his car screaming away like yours? you’d be able to tell if it was!!!! Sorry to ruin your excitement!!!!!!
  7. And cheaper so you can put the extra funds to something else ;-)
  8. Remove the aircon, it’ll only zap some of the extra power your putting in anyway!!!!! Then you can use what you want!!!
  9. I haven’t seen a £200 turbo on ebay!!!!!, I have bookmarked a £750 turbo kit, intercooler hoseing etc. Tell me where you get them from, I’ll have a gander as well!!!!
  10. Need a job first mate, then I gotta finish my VR THEN I can look for a 32!!!!! BUT it’ll be at least 2 years before that happens

  20. Don’t think it would be so long as you haven’t got too much carbon elsewhere!!!!!!
  21. How do fixed rate coilies work? I thought as you dropped the height of the car the spring compressed and got stiffer?? Not that experienced with coil overs only what I had in my mind!!!!! Oh and how much do they cost??
