  1. Between 45 and 50 % mix for coolant, 45 % equals 3 full bottles so just stick to that. The plunger is on the brake fluid reservoir, there should be a little rubber thing on top if it holding it down, if its always up you should be always having a brake warning light on your dash. The oil canister is for older type VR6 engines, cartridge is what you should need, if you raise the car and stick your head underneath the oil filter cap is big black plastic with a 36mm hex moulded in it with a small Allen key drain screw in the middle which is on the front if the engine. Don't take the Allen key s
  2. As for insurance look at more specialist companies, you can find a few in the insurance section, you should get much better quotes as long as you aren't 17 and live on moss side.
  3. The actual act of doing chains will take about half an hour, its taking the gearbox off etc to get to te lower chain that takes a long time.
  4. That's an aftermarket cone filter, the exhaust isn't standard either. You need 10w40 semi syn make sure its VW spec 505.01(if I remember correct) as said its 6L. It's an R plate so if its on its original engine you need a later style cartridge oil filter. You need 3 bottles of the genuine G12++ (equals 4.5L) from VW then fill the rest up with halfords battery water for the coolant. The total capacity is 10L. As also said they are chain driven. If its getting to 100 - 120 thousand miles, there's no evidence of it ever being done and you are going to keep it for a while then new chains and gu
  5. Chipping slowly at it, but its the little things that make the most difference I find
  6. Do you have a pic of how you've got them? Can't you just undo the ball joints and swing the whole assembly out so it clears then reattach?
  7. hopefully theyll have the 7.0 bugs all sorted and even a jailbreak by 7.1
  8. I would think you can just fine as long as the lengths are similar, theres no complexity with them, they should just work fine, your only issue should be if they are too short, a bit long shouldnt matter too much but short obviously wont reach.
  9. Ha no probs, always worth a punt, keep this updated with what you do
  10. The yellow one is the temp for the gauge in the clocks, the blue one is for the ecu temp readings and if you have air com the brown one controls the fan stages for that. You might as well if you're gonna open the t-stat housing anyway.
  11. I just used a crush washer on mine and its never leaked.
  12. Blue temp sensor aswell if you're gonna do the thermostat
  13. Yea you're never able to get the verification to work on launch day there's too many people trying at once. I'm staying on 6 until there's a jailbreak and the tweaks that as far as I'm concerned I need are ported over to 7, I use too many tweaks to lose them and go back to stock. Apple have put a load more jailbreak originating tweaks in 7 but they still leave out basics just off the top of my head that i use every day, like SMS delivery reports, the ability to select all emails at once, hide newsstand or spotlight, add manual corrections to the dictionary, download, transfer and email any ki
  14. Have you tried just undoing the epxansion cap, after its cool enough, then doing it back up tight after its properly cold to equalise the pressure in and out, then see if it blows out again. If so the first, easiest and cheapest thing would be to get a new cap.
  15. Nice starting point for any direction you want to take it. I have a cat back 1 box powerflow mid/scorpion oval backbox exhaust for sale if your interested, its cheap as the backbox entry pipe needs a couple of inches cut off and a new little bit of pipe welding on, which would only cost a few quid really.
  16. Mines a daily steed and has been since the day it came out of the garage after the bodywork being fixed.
