  1. Yea I think none are an out of the box fit, they always need some tweaking don't they, I tried a mikalor I had but even that wouldn't tighten it up enough, there was a fraction of a mm gap on one side it managed to put put put through To my surprise it is quieter than the system it replaces, maybe it will gain some decibels as it cokes up over the next few hundred miles, but I was shocked to drive down the road and not be able to hear it at all!
  2. Well the bloody thing leaked at the front so had it off again, I've had to try and make a snug fit using the sleeve pipe in the kit. Ended up cutting each end off, pressing the biggest end into the front pipe, then pressing the smaller end inside that to make it the correct diameter for the cat, fingers crossed it doesn't still blow tomorrow morning, if it does the fact that I press fit the pipe into the front end will mean that I'd have to get to a powerflow or the like and get the front few inches cut off and a specific little section made up to connect the cat to the front pipe snugly.
  3. Ah the camera angle deceives but to the eye its bang on
  4. Got it fitted today, wasn't exactly an out of the box fit but its sat ok now, haven't taken it for a test drive yet so don't know if it will sound any different yet, this is 2.5" which apparently the old one wasn't as its obviously smaller, haven't measured it though.
  5. Ha yea probably, but the non res scorpion its replacing is supposed to be notoriously one of the loudest, I did read that a lot of people buy the non res jetex then end up buying the resonated front section afterwards lol
  6. Got a new exhaust through today, I went for non res Jetex and it was a good price Wonder how this will sound!
  7. You can gets conti one from eurocarparts for about £18. Oh and another good thing to do is oil cooler seals front and back. And water pump, they are an exchange item at VW so only costs about £20 for a new genuine one.
  8. In hindsight on mine I had this before, didn't realise it until I'd replaced everything and there was silence, when I got the covers off for the chain setup coming off, both the upper and lower fixed guides were in multiple pieces, which must have caused this swooshy sound.
  9. Surely she has an expensive hobby of some sort? Use it against her. Every time a parcel comes for mine full of shoes or handbags or god knows what else crap she buys I don't moan a bit, so when an expensive package comes for me, if she says anything I have a long list of things that will shut her up.
  10. Saw my first 63 plate today, and a nice one at that
  11. The trend will be reversed in not too long anyway so cars will be like they used to be in terms of low weight to power, not through not having much luxe equipment, but by use of composites etc. So in summary, 30 years on and you're back where you started, but with bigger wheels, better corrosion protection, remote locking and air con. Progress.....
  12. You obviously haven't read my build, I am THE most picky perfectionist person around lol
  13. Looking good, the seatbelts go with the whole black and red theme well. If you are dyeing the headliner I can recommend this stuff http://www.fabricspray.co.uk/shop/upholstery-spray-paint/midnight-black its a spray on dye, I used 4 cans on mine and its still looking good about 2 years on. It also dyed the sunroof blind and seal going round the sunroof exactly the same colour. I had no luck with the sunroof interior light either, U-pol satin black paint is a perfect match to the cabrio visors and handles, I did the light, the motor cover and the sunroof vent with it and its perfect. The only
  14. Lets see the dial rings I've had some on my eBay watch list for months lol
  15. Good effort mate, but if its going to be tracked you don't want to be just cutting coils off springs, it will muck up the handling.
  16. Found it. It's group 4 in measuring blocks to check fuel trims.
  17. Not thread jacking but I put an injector on the N80 plug as stated above and the 01247 error hasn't come back as yet, but I've forgotten how to check the fuel trims, I tried the 032 measuring block like ross tech but it doesnt show anything so assuming its for newer cars.
  18. Don't know then why they wouldn't line up, drill them out so they will fit.
  19. I epoxyd the top spacer in place as they always got forced out
  20. Illegal parking galore for you, they can't clamp that !
  21. My APs came with the helpers at the top and I left them like that.
  22. You can just get the vr6 non air con belt.
