  1. Din't think camping was a going...I'm more for chasing craggsy on the M1 to the pod on sunday.....
  2. You've just had yours done too....lucky git. Umm, I'm not going to drive it then till sunday. when I can sort it. Haha, I'm a qualified mechanic too.....steer clear lads....I know my way around engines though.. :$
  3. Well I put a coilover kit on it the other day and the O/S hasn't sat properly, but not this badly....it just appeared when I opened the bonnet........I thinktheres a black small rubber bearing that goes under the rubber mounting thats either broken or I havn't replaced when sorting the mounts out.....sure I did though. Yes ben, though I put the original on top...you just cant see it with the specialist photography... :-p
  4. What do you think is wrong here..... I've either not put something back or it's just fooked.
  5. I don't mean to intrude, but nobody answered my post on page 6. I'm a pain in the a r s e but I like to know in advance what the deal is, so I don't screw up.
  6. I know its a while away at the moment but I don't want to turn up to find out I'm a grade A plank. Just going to check as I'm not sure if I've been put down for the display...my car is standard and has a couple of dents from previous owners. The plan is to arrive on saturday at what time? Can I meet up with someone on the M1 services past Daventry at J15..rothersthorpe I think? Food for the first night will be a must to take but if there are burger vans on sunday ect, I'll take some snacks for sunday.....what do you chaps n girls take for the camping...yes yes yes, I know beer too and a soh lo
  7. Have you checked your cooling system...levels, nothing blocking the rad, correct oil, what air ilter are you using? Check the colour of your coolant too. It sounds like compression issues (headgasket) or pre detonation from overheating as it only happens after it's been used for a while.....just my opinion. Does it constantly misfire till turned off?
  8. I have the same problem, but I've found it's dependant on the position of my handbrake when resting and driving.....yes I do take my handbrake off before pulling away
  9. I've installed rear coilovers no problem. However, front have domed tops that are made of either steel or aluminium. Do the gold tops and rubber bump stops that secure the original coilovers to the chassis need to be put onto the coilovers?
  10. Your exhaust blowing will not be causing it to stall or jump. So that's one problem gone.......though it will affect your power and mpg slightly.
  11. I may be giving you my own paint destruction technique, but I use a hose without an attachment, finger over the end to create a very less powerfull jet washer and spray it around all the openings like the rear window n stuff and watch all the mossy stuff and black gunky stuff come off.........or a jet washer.
  12. My car has had all VR6 badges removed (granted there was only 2 in total), yet I've been flashed by R32's, several GTI's and a few weeks ago, had a slammed mk4 GT trying to keep up after I plodded past him at around 85....I slowed into middle lane and he overtook with hazards.....probably telling me my car was falling apart
  13. Actually, I'm not going to encourage any D.I.Y due to possible legal action lol
  14. I did mine with 2 very short axle stands, 1 crappy trolly jack, and a 300 piece tool set from argos lol. I removed all engine bay componants, removed gearbox, changed clutch, driveshafts and timing chains aswell as valves and valve guides.......you can do it if you feel confident, have a slight mechanical ability and make sure your car isn't needed for a few days.
