Okay craggsy, I will remember that buddy Nigel that would be smashing and yes, I have the nut. As a matter of fact, part of the snapped windscreen wiper is still on the car. Cheers Ben. Dave is a legend I pressume then? Only thing I wont be doing this weekend is losing my strip V. But I will be at the next one.

Rite, I'm coming to this. Beware, I'm missing a rear windscreen wiper and the tow eye lens though..........so it wouldn't be wise to have it on the stand, if it was for there anyway lol.

I think i'm going to go to this one and borrow some cash from the parents. Besides, I wanna be able to say I've attended my fisrt meet and I also want to meet you guys and girls....and drool over a vast amount of VR's.

mate, if I had one, believe me, I'd use the smegger!!! Especially for this. Unfortunately, I have a debit solo card with no overdraft set up........uuuunlucky for me. I wanna do this meet more than ever...I've been waiting since november last year when the VR was taxed and the VR6OC settled down till this year. Besides, I still need to sort out a very leaky rad and coolant tank before anything else.

I may not be able to attend this one....£30 left in my account till 31st march doesn't quite seem enough for the drive there, back and the food + beers and the charcoal for nigels bbq. Not impressed as the reason I'm in this financial state is with my employer screwing up my pay. I either attend this one and borrow money or I leave it till the next one in may?? and use the funds to improve ze dub.....no idea.

Car cuts out after start up.

As the title says.... I start up the car and the car does the normal thing of going up to 1200ish revs and back down to idle normally and just carries on to 600 before cutting out and it cuts out around a second after I turn the key. I took the battery neg off earlier for around 30mins, so I'm guessing it could be the ecu resetting itself. The battery light comes on a few times very quickly when started up, so I'm guessing this means a loose connection to the alternator....but surely that couldn't stall the engine, also the oil light flashes a few times too....though the oil level is between m

I have these dates off, I've been looking forward to this one since I became a premium member....right about the time you all finished the events for 2008 lol. Also getting my hands on a mk1 on 30th march......may be doing a vr6 project with that. -
Sounds like what I was thinking too. I thought It'd be around 225 anyway. I'm still in the process of saving though. I'm going to try and get a schriek manifold, 6 branch, 263 cams and if I can, like craggsy said, a lower final drive. I have been looking at that. The short run inlet mani that is usually a replacement on FI was something I was looking at too, especially as it would sit at the front near the cool air and not suffer from heat soak. Is that a bad idea though? I mean the schriek mani costs what? 800 to 1500? Short ini cost 998 I think, just mods to the throttle cable.

I'm still in the process of getting a dyno run sorted for getting an idea of how much power im chucking out at the mo. I want more oooohmp anyway and I'm sure my car is low on both bhp and torque. I've been looking at getting a twin turbo, manual supra and selling the golf......yes I want to kill myself. However, I love the mk3 golf too much....though it's a healthy obsession. What can I do to get maximum power and torque from the engine by modifying internals, mapping, blah blah, without doing F/I and what do you imagine the maximum hp/torque can be acheived without FI?.

Well it's one of a few reasons isnt it. He was drunk, with his mates and wanted to look good, so they knew he had, fingerquotes "high standards" and they hadn't been met. Or like a drunk teenager who's gotten drunk for the first time, bragging about how he feels and how much he's drunk to everyone in earshot, like we care. Besides, I'm sure you're not the only person in that cafe that thought he was an ass. Especially after looking at some of the pics. Final thought.... drunken moron.

Canned it is then....makes sense with 1000's of rubber tyres rolling about. What you taking instead of your VR then? Music sounds okay then. Gonna need your or someone elses mobby num at some point before the saturday, IF of course thats okay? If y'all are okay with it, there is the possibility my betterhalf MIGHT be coming with me....however, she's not into cars lol and with the possibility of the camping just being guys and guy talk followed by car talk with burping, farting and burping with more car talk, I'm not 100% on wether she'd even enjoy it.

Umm, an accident that I was involved in was blamed on me and they won. I was coming off M40 doing around 60mph keeping about 2secs behind car infront. Mrs landysport comes strait over from lane 3 doing around 70mph cutting up cars to squeeze into my braking distance. Car infront brakes heavily anyway just as landy is pulling into gap and jams on her brakes, as do I but I hit the back off her smashing headlampcovers and bending bonnet along with totaling my rad. She pulled over and I did so too. Claimed I was speeding off motorway.......basically claiming I did what she did only that I was beh

Yes...I'll be camping... ....I think I'll be able to put up the tent in a few hours thanks to my Army training. :-p Few Q's. Food for the night? Cleaning stuff?......bearing in mind I scrub but don't wax, yet....the car that is, not my personal hygene. Infact, what stuff is everyone else bringing for the camp night/day? and I could adjust my list accordingly and maybe provide extra stuff for others?

Coolant problems - head gasket??

Several possiblilities...yes I am aware I'm jumping in after you may have it sorted, still. Your expansion tank can develop a hairline crack around the join, halfway up. I have that problem, might explain the water appearing after booting it...pressure increases somewhat in the system with high revs. Mayo can be condensation also. Steam in exhaust gases for a very short period is usually condensation caused when the exhaust cools the night before when it's been used......can be seen on any car early morning when people are heading to work. Check pipe quality, rad and anything else with coolant
