A few more ideas I had was to put a indicator in the rear window as close to possible to the door handle. And this option that I was probaly going to take which is Fit some 2-3mm perspex in the recessed hole where the indicator was, Flat it so its compleaty flush with the wing. Add a small amount of filler where perspex joins wings, Flat off again, Mask a new slighty smaller oval onto the perspex. Spray so filler is compleaty covered, Remove mask and lighly blow over remaining clear perspex (light dust as if blowing in pannal repair) Then the old indicator with amber bulbs would be fibre

I was thinking about having the 6 branch mainfold, decat pipe, leaving the center boxs and fitting a supersprint backbox. Does this sound like a good combitation for torgue and BHP??? Would there be any advantage in removing the small round silencer just after the cat when putting the decat in leaving the system - mainfold, decat, big square silencer, super sprint back box???? Instead of -mainfold, decat, small round sliencer, big square silencer, supersprint back box. Hard to exsplane what im on about. hope you understand

The rust killer wont stop the rust although will help. How long for i donno because ive only just done mine ( around the filler cap!!! under neath the flap) As for the rust under your seats. im chopping it out and making some zinktec plates to weld in. Probaly compleaty removing the rubber bungs as i think there only there for manafactory perposes. Doing it this way the rust should never return as long as you paint it properly and make sure that if u get a stone chip or scrap paint off over a speed bump you paint over it again Replace the brake pipes. Its a MOT failour

I think galvanised ones can still rust. If the galvanised layer gets damaged then the rust can start and spread underneath that. Does anyone know how to tell if your models galvanised. I thought mine would be been a 1997 model. but prehapes not

can i have an opinion on this rear bumper please
Phat VR6 replied to tubby's topic in Bodywork and Styling
You can put your number plate in your rear window if its (in a seperate air space to your car) ie sealed box and well lighten -
Yep looks great. Is it ok to use fibre glass to smooth the bumpers as thats the way i was going to do it. Any advantages on using plastic welder

Its nice to see other people have rust on there dubs. Not that i wish it one anyone but makes me feel alittle better about my rust on mine. Both wings, Rear archs, Sills and drain plug holes at the rear have rusted on mine. And a few spots one the chassie legs. Im getting the engine out and striping the hole lot down as its stressin me out. My advise it dont look for it, Out of sight out of mind. Ive even thought about reshelling it!!!

Im in the same situation as you mate. And feeling pritty gutted tbf. Only way to stop rust is to chop it out and weld new metal in. Although you can buy rust killer from halifords which slows it down alot

OMG. Im only 21 and havent got rich parents to boro money from so im shaged. I was going to piease together the parts for a turbo as i went along and try to do it for about £2500, £3000 but i think i might just wait till ive got £10.000 or a reliable job to get a loan for that amount after reading this. So i think a turbo might be coming when im abit older. Say 27 or somthink. shit shit shit. So without going turbo what BHP can i exspect. Im talking 3.0 high compression. cams big valve head (athought they cost about a £1000 :@ ) Im starting to hate this cus i wont be happy t
