  1. Thanks, ill check it out! Nathan
  2. Hi guys, Ive just bought a nice clean 3 door VR6 with low miles after selling my Highline (I missed the 4k roar!!!) anyway, only prob is the passenger window will go down using the switch (either side) but it wont go up? Any idea's? Cheers Nathan8-)
  3. Fixed! it was the crank sensor/engine speed sensor. A bit miffed ive forked out £200 for coilpack, plugs and leads but hey ho, its fixed now.
  4. Thanks mate. It'll be for sale soon so I want to get it 100% perfect asap
  5. Folks, I posted on here about my 1998 Highline (OBD2) running like poo basically and it was down to the plug leads not being 'clicked' down correctly. Anyway, occasionally the tick over will drop when stationary at lights/junctions etc and the car will cut out (hot or cold) also, the car splutters and bogs down as if there is no power (happened on the motorway twice at a 70mph..............you put your foot down but nothing the car is almost lifeless then suddenly kicks back to normal?) these things happen about once a week thats it??? Ive fitted new leads, plugs and coilpack. Would a throttle
  6. Mate, I don't know diddly squat about the VR6 (im an Impreza man...........lol!) but from my misfire, id check plugs, leads and coilpack. can't help on the other probs though im afraid. Nathan
  7. Thanks for the replies guys! since this morning, its stuttered once but thats all. Ive checked my coilpack and the plastic outer casing closest side to the front of the car is cracked and a small piece has chipped away so coilpack next!
  8. Picked the car up today from the VW garage and it still ran awful. It was barely holding tickover, spluttering, black smoke out the exhaust. I rang the garage again and they assured me it was'nt plug/lead/coilpack related. Don't know why but I decided to check the new leads again.......I found 5 out of 6 were'nt 'clicked' down properly, so with a long screwdriver I 'clicked' the leads down. Guess what? Perfect idle! I took the car out for a drive for about 30mins (high speed, low speed, in traffic so the fan came in and out and it was pefect never missing a beat!) Fingers crossed its cured but
  9. Guys, ive had my 1998 VR6 Highline for just over a month now and its been trouble free! A couple of days ago suddenly the tickover started dropping, almost cutting out until the car corrected itself. I changed the plugs but it started running worse, hardly holding a tickover and it would'nt pull past 4k rpm (fun zone.....lol!). I changed the leads and took it for a quick spin getting it up to temp and it seemed perfect again. I parked the car up as usual then 2hrs later drove the car to work and it was awful, coughing, misfiring, spluttering all over the place. I tried to accelerate away from
  10. Folks, after sorting my suspension worries (thank god...) im thinking about decatting the old girl. At the mo, ive got a Magnex cat back fitted. Ive read that there are two sizes of Decats available, one longer than the other???? How do I know which one I need and are the £60ish ones off Fleabay any good? Cheers Nathan
  11. All sorted! Thanks to having the tracking and camber correctly adjusted1
