    My new wheels.

Bargain of the year most definately, one will needs a slight refurb on the edge, but the faces are almost mint. I still cant believe i have them!!!
  2. Yeah, as you both mentioned ive heard the same. The 225 will be going for 205/40 rubber. Does it not damage the wheel bearing covers, or make it more difficult to remove them if necessary??

    My new wheels.

Youll have to park yours away from mine, mines a state! :$
  4. After being told that one of my wheels was a little buckled yesterday and was losing air, i needed to find some new ones sharpish. So this morning i went on ebay and after about 2 hours i was the proud owner of a set of 17" Audi TT comp wheels with 225/45 tires, two in good condition and the other two are naff. Unfortunately on the way home i might have got caught speeding, i was doing approximately 80mph on a dual carriageway, so i will be awaiting a letter for another 3 points and a fine. :@ Anyway, back to the wheels, they cost me a mere £140 and £10 in petrol, needless to say i ripped th
  5. Yesterday i got into the VR and drove down the road (as you so when you get in a car) when going to brake the brake pedal was quite stiff and vibrated quite a bit when braking. I could also hear a noise coming from the front like a rubbing/grinding noise. Then this evening without braking i heard the same noise coming from the front of the car, when i started to brake the pedal was stiff then suddenly softened up.. Any ideas what could be the problem, or a problem that will soon be? Thanks in advance. Jk.
  6. Is there anything i should know before i try and fit them to my mk3? The car is lowered 40mm as far as i know. Thanks in advance.

    bigboystoys???

Not used their workshop, but i had a nightmare a couple of YEARS ago getting some goods from them via mail order...but they may have got much better since, or it might of just been another unlucky story for me!
  9. Mine has just put out 187.6 Bhp. Mods: Ram Air and Remus Back Box.

  11. If this is the case, then DOH!!!! I just bought a new MAF.
  12. Basically its a sensor that IRRC sticks out from the right. When the air passes from the induction/filter it pushes the sensor down and completes allowing a circuit to be made. If the sensor is split or to far from the circuit then it will need replacing. Mine was in two pieces and the connection was not made, hence why it ran sometimes and not others until it finally died completely. Hope it helps.
  13. MAF CHECK THE MAF!!! Sounds like what happened to me about 2 weeks ago. The AA said fuel pump, this that and the other, turned out to be the MAF which was diagnosed by VAG-COM. But you can check it just by removing it and having a look at the sensor inside...worth it for about 10mins work! These were my symptoms: - Was running rough prior and low on performance - Had a strong smell of fuel in the engine bay The day it broke: - Went to start the car and it didnt start, then it did, drove down the road about 15 meters and died, started it again and immediately died with the oil light flashing.

  15. Ive been asked by my lovely g/f what i would like for xmas...so i replied, nothing really, but some money towards my respray wouldnt go a miss! The answer was simply "NO". So, i went on to ask for some money towards my new head unit again "NO". Whats the frigging point asking if im going to be told no all the time. Anyway, what are you wishing for xmas?
  16. Definately some variances in outputs, VR40- 198bhp was high, but then another OBD2 gets 180bhp with the same mods?! Also, i noticed some of the Supercharged cars seemed a little low. But as long as a good day was had which it looks like!
  17. Some good pictures there! Lots of shinny bits! (h)
