  1. Monster and food. Winning combination for a successful build project [emoji6] Top work mate, it's what you'd call an inspiring read to all of us lazy feckers that keep putting off the inevitable!
  2. Sounds to me as tho it's getting too much fuel on warm start ups. The coolant temperature sensor sends information to the ecu for it to analyse what sort of a fuel/air mixture to use dependant on engine temp. Could be that the car is trying to use a cold start procedure (more fuel less air, like a choke in older cars) when it's not needed. Now there's 2 sensors, one blue and one green if I remember correctly, one of which is a common failing point, that I've done in the past on one of my R32s but I can't for the life of me remember which one it is sorry. I'm inclined to say it the blue one.
  3. Can I have a badge and a lollipop now please??

That feelings mutual in my house so game on! Make sure you take the time to get them all set up properly and you'll be happy ever after. Copper slip is another good one to stop the elements attacking them too mate.
  5. Also check for shitty build up in the throttle body around the butterfly, if the breathers are still fitted as per factory and she's a high miler, could be pretty sticky in there.
  6. Turning the wheel is putting extra load on the power steering pump, dragging your idle speed down. Just like turning on all the lights and loading up the alternator There's clearly an issue somewhere causing it to hunt under such a load, I'd be looking for possible vacuum leak, faulty idle stabilization valve. Possible MAF issue but doubtful if it runs ok above idle speed
  7. Here ya go. Not my pics, they belong to that bloke called goggle or google or something but he said I could borrow them [emoji16] Rear - behind bumper Front - in door pillar That blue one is actually a mk4 but same idea.
  8. They stick out about an inch from the door frame between the 2 hinges, I've had a couple of mk3s in the past where they've been full of crap and leaves etc. that said it might just be where I live, being a country boy and all that lol Scooter, if you can just stick a pic up of the door opening on your car and I'll see if you've got what I'm thinking of. I'm starting to doubt myself now! I'd check mine for you but it's wrapped up and I'm just too busy until next week to lift the covers sorry. Pissed scanias by day, hungry dairy cows by night. Someone get me a violin!!!!
  9. Ah I feel for ya, I really do. No doubt it's that toss 3 pedal opticruise shite too [emoji23]
  10. We had one fall over on Saturday morning, the answer they had off me was firstly "who was driving it and was he ok", swiftly followed by "HA! That's one less scania on britains roads"
  11. Let's face it cabbs, with you me and Dave in here, op's lucky he's had even had half a constructive reply! That said, If squeezed to often, that can also result in a wet patch!
  12. Couldn't think of any other way to describe them lol, but yeah, imagine the little clit stimulator bit?? Well you've got 2 on your car, one for each side of the sunroof. Simple test, give the end a squeeze and youl know if it needs emptying!
  13. The sunroof has drain tubes attached to it. Open the passenger door and youl see a little rubber dick sticking out of the body on the front end of the door frame. There's a good chance that's blocked up, and the same on the driver side. There's also drain tubes running above the headliner and draining out behind the rear bumper. Make sure all these tubes are clear. Be careful with compressed air incase you detach the tubes and then it's headliner and trims out to refit them. Tail lamp seals are a common failing point too so check for water in spare wheel well. It has a habit of running forwa
  14. Take the anni badge off and leave it, maybe swap the vw badge for a genuine black one. That's my thoughts anyway.
  15. I once took an RS4 out for a burst which belonged to a work colleague, I can only imagine how that engine must feel in a beetle!! Needless to say he had rid of it after a month after he totaled up his fuel bill, which to say was slightly more than he anticipated is an understatement!
  16. Wow that caddy looks stunning! Welcome along mate. Mexican show scene next year anyone??
  17. That last statement from you surrey, couldn't be more true. Here here!! Let's all tell lies and live happy, cancel Christmas because let's face it Father Christmas is a prick, and an inconvenience! we could all be spending that money on a worthy cause such as a VR not pesky kids! EDIT...... Bah humbug!! [emoji5]️
  18. Much the same, only I have used a bar a few times, so bloody time consuming! So come on fellas, best one to buy and best way to use it?? Gotta say I have been thinking about it, but also unsure of the best practice compared to a clay bar
  19. And there's your answer, good choice I say [emoji106]
  20. You checked your junk email folder? I had 6 tapatalk confirmations in mine lol
  21. Tomatoe or tomato? You do what you feel looks right in your opinion, sod what anyone else thinks, it's your build buddy [emoji6]
  22. Repair daily, keep it original, pull engine from the rotter and keep it incase [emoji106]
  23. Welcome along matey, loads of helpful advice in here, sometimes lol! Like the vento front end when used with a factory badged grill [emoji6]
  24. Love this one, always liked the black 3dr, looks spot on [emoji106] Out of interest, what size are your adaptors and any arch work needed? I used to have a set if those BMW rims on mine many years ago, but cannot for the life of me remember what width adaptors I used! Whatever they where, they worked well with rolled rear arches and bone stock front wings on 205/40 tyres.
