  1. Had a feeling I would Is the stage 2 kit just basically swap the pulley and injectors once the stage 1 is in place?
  2. So long as the gas from the exhaust passes the emmissions test, it doesnt matter about the absence of the CAT, so in theory you might aswel leave cars de-catted for the MOTand just refit if they fail emmissions to save hassle http://www.bobmckay.co.uk/cattest.html
  3. If i were to fit my stage 1 kit, but with uprated injectors and then get it mapped, if in the future i wanted to stage 2 it, would it need another remap or would the ecu, maf, tb etc adjust as needed? As i live 200 miles from stealth Id rather only do the trip the once and pay out the once cheers all
  4. mines due for a service, It will probably disappear one thats done. I wanna get it done but cant do it myself as I want to keep the full service history stamps going and Im skinted at the moment :@
  5. what oil are you using? If its fully synthetic it will be swallowed up in no time
  6. Link to fitting guides for the dials and lcd screen filter, doesnt look to bad, so long as you take your time, rainy sunday job me thinks dials http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/media/ddi_golf_gauge.pdf lcd filter http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/media/ddi_golf_lcd.pdf
  7. Ive heard its not needed, but if you take it off along with its bracket, you can relocate it to the same space on the opposite side of the engine bay and extend the 2 hoses
  8. Im fitting it b4, things get confused if you fit it after as it will have to measure recirculated air, mind you safest bet is do what the fitting guide says, which will probably say between the filter and charger
  9. What I would do, rear window wise, for a proper job you might aswel get a new one fitted that doesnt have holes, possibly a windscreen repair place could fill them and then polish them out, but that would more than likely cost the same as a new one. With the wiper being removed Id get the hole filled and resprayed, else your gonna have a crap looking plug in the hole.
  10. theres some on the bay now, calipers, adaptors etc, but no pads and discs. I was tempted but my charger kit has skinted me out! opps its only the 6th
  11. Cheers guys, Ive just found a 20psi one with supercharger written across it! Do you have a fuel/air ratio gauge aswell?
  12. when you flog you car, you can say " as featured in golf+ magazine!" hahaha
  13. ahh vr6's.. alot of them do that, its the hydraulic tappets waking up
  14. Im trying to find a gauge that only goes up as far as 10-15 psi (preferably 10 psi) but they all seem to go to 30psi, which is rubbish as the needle will only just be moving for 6-8 psi charger use Anyone know where I can get a suitable one? Someone has to make a supercharger specific gauge do they? cheers
  15. I seem to remeber spotting a post somewhere back around xmas on t'internet, where someone had taken one apart, all that was inside was a basic valve that looked like a ball bearing with a hole drilled through it, so it just puts a pulse into the vacuum instead of a uniform pressure,so well worth the money ;-D
  16. Multi plug on the back of the unit damaged when you disconnected them? or is it pushed fully back into place? link the light direct to the battery and see if they light then
  17. Would taking all the bulbs out down the problem side and then trying front, rear and side separatly on their own, atleast narrow down which position was causing the short? At least then you could start at the dodgy bulb end and trace back, might work?
  18. Possibly the heat from the hair dryer killed the resistors on the L.E.D circuit that lights up the rings
  19. I have infinity kappa components, i made a mounting plate out of mdf and pushed it into the existing hole, it was a nice tight fit and works spot on. Id get new components as chances are that if one speakers gone, the others are close behind, kappa are really good, but pricey, pioneer ts-a172c are good aswell for about £70
  20. A hard drive wont work as it needs a driver to run it, you need a flash drive, preferrably a plug and play (no operating software needed) Try one of these http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/904303/SanDisk-2GB-Cruzer-Crossfire-USB-2-0-Memory-Flash-Drive/Product.html http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/904304/SanDisk-4GB-Cruzer-Crossfire-USB-2-0-Memory-Flash-Drive/Product.html use one of them for my stereo and ps3, it needs no software and im yet to find any device that wont read it
  21. loose connection / cracked solder on dials? my rev counter went, so i took the whole look out, but found nothing wrong so took it to LUCAS and their electrician found a hairline crack on the solder, so small he found it with a magnifying glass
  22. BMC BMC BMC, its worth the cash just for the noise, you wont be dissapointed and you end up going for drives just to play with the noise!
