  1. If you want a proper good job that'll really last, there is an awful lot of extras involved, all the kits you see will bolt on and run no problems, but from talking to a guy at work who has been supercharging all sorts of stuff for years, to do it really well, which is what i'd want to do, it needs LSD, engine/gearbox mounts, intercooler, clutch etc etc so as not to cause pricey problems down the line I was really tempted for ages, even to the point of being on the ordering page of a website, but now im going for the schrick inlet and cams and a re-mapping route. Easier on the engine/insuranc
  2. I was thinking Alan Jefferies down plymouth or possibly, I saw TSR in bridgwater was reopened the other day, has anyone used them?
  3. any of the high street type companys are spaz's really, i like the way ripspeed call their staff specialists!! their deffinatly special, in a dribbling, vacant look, dragging a foot kidda way
  4. ive got a snooper sapphire, its the daddy, looks like a psp
  5. Anyone know of somewhere in the devon area that is able to re-map (dont want that superchips kak) Im putting together a shopping list inc schrick vgi and 268's so itll need mapping (broke my arm so perfect time to save up whilst im out of action, vegged out infront of my PS3 for 6 weeks haha ) also, has anyone got a performance exhaust manifold and how much difference does it make noise/power etc ta all
  6. The main difference btween most kits and stuff like the bmc and pipercross viper is that if you look down the inlet of the canisters there are curved fins, which as the engine sucks in air, these fins twist in air (imagine a small tornado) as the air spins, this will create a drop in pressure, which inturn will create a sucking effect inside the actual induction kit canister, so not only is the engine sucking, but the induction kit is aswel, abit like a tiny little turbo (i think?) thats what the bumf says on the side of my bmc box anyway The price might seem a little high, but once youve hear
  7. defo anti roll bars, eibach are supposed to be really good?
  8. silicone seems to haze the effect i found, i have a can of spray silicone and when i used it, it dulled it so much i polished it all off again with belgom alu
  9. might aswell replace all the mounts, bearing, bushes, bumpstops etc its only a few quid and better to do now when its all out anyway, than in a few months time when it fails an MOT on something to do with it, if you get what i mean
  10. Go for the 312mm setup, they pop up on ebay quite often for a decent price
  11. Yep i did mine easily enough, if you do, give the nut on top of each turret a good soak in WD40 the night b4 as they can be abit tight and rusted Also replace all bump stops, bushes and bearings whilst its out, only a couple quid from GSF and worth it in the long run, also get the suspension adjustments done at a garage straight away after or it'll eat the tyres well quickly
  12. All I used was Autoglym clean wheels, nitromorse spray on mousse, plastic paint scraper, a tooth brush for fiddly bits, a £12 halfords 12v polisher and 2 fluffy buffing bonnets and autosol metal polish BEFORE Dull, brake dust covered and letting my car down Cleaned wheels fully Nitromorsed the laquer off and scraped (be patient, dont force the laquer off, redo with stripper again until clear, the least amount of scratching now saves you ten fold when polishing!!!) Rinsed properly with hose Polished with autosol metal polish (polish, buff, polish, buff......until happy with finish) Polished w
  13. Try and find a tunnel or narrow street with people walking thru it and give them the dambuster noise!! THEY DONT LIKE IT UP'EM MR MANNERING!! (6)
  14. Ive just bought another full lifeshine kit just to keep in the garage until my present one runs out, only £40! The polishing cloths that come with it alone are worth £20 (and yes it is the full p.d.i kit dealers use, in sealed box) This stuff is awesome, if you use all the goodies in the kit then top it of with a decent carnuba wax (p21s is quality for the price)you can easily get paint work looking like its still wet paint. It takes 5hrs or so to fully valet in and out baring in mind each type of polish needs 30-60mins to cure b4 polishing off, also if you look on ebay u can get the AUTOGL
  15. Its produced more mayo today! think ill book it in for its service and a comp test, then monitor it with fresh oil and filter
  16. Yeah i only do 5 miles a day, the digital temp gauge doesnt even register its such a short commute. Just taken it along the M5 to get the engine up to temp and everything seems find, no mayo or other symptoms, getting tested on saturday just in case buts as in only doing short runs in cold weather and i have a BMC CDA and its only done 50k i think its just condensation (touching wood!!!!) CHEERS FOR THE HELP THOUGH
  17. About 1.5 month ago i topped up my vr6 with fully synthetic oil(possibly standard oil b4), up until that point it was sweet as a nut, tonight when i checked it over there was mayo in the filler cap but no other problems or symptoms at all? Im really hoping its nothing and not the head gasket etc any ideas or anyone had this before?
  18. No probs with maf, just make sure it aint rattling around too much, I used a cable tie to steady it, sorted Got mine off ebay for £185, they only come in two sizes as they are universal, you will also need an 82 or 85mm coupling hose to fit it, i used an sf racing one in blue from demon tweeks £10 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMC-CDA-Induction-Air-Filter-Kit-Audi-TT-Turbo-3-2_W0QQitemZ130089807881QQcategoryZ36680QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ask him as i think that is the correct one (for a vr6) he has loads for sale PS dont use the cold air feed pipe, its fine not to and gives loads better
  19. BMC hands down, when u boot it people turn round to see whats coming, makes a really angry roar! I didnt listen to my stereo for about a month after buying mine! FIND A TUNNEL, PUT IT IN 3RD, FLOOR IT!!!! u wont be disappointed

  21. Golden Rule... Sound quality is only as good as its source Id go for a pionner head unit with 3 preouts (front, rear and sub) components front and rear and something like a vibe sub with its own amp built in. Should be able to sort that in the january sales for £600...Also ICE dealers in my experience are robbing bastards who put a huge mark up on and try their luck (just ordered off t'internet for £200 less than local dealer!) pick out what u want and ask for a package deal and haggle, bet u they drop a fair bit!! Basically just run the speakers of the head unit as it is reasonably loud and
  22. I have infinity kappas front and pioneer accelorates rear, x-over hidden below tweets in dash and under rear seats
