WD40 will be better for drying the connectors. in a case like this even the shareware VAG-COM stands more of a chance of helping you spot the problem than it did for bad leads / plugs as they cannot cause a fault code.
Depends on the cost. at 169K it will need to have been done at some point. Mine was done at 155k and the tensioner was completely shot. you can get chains and a new clutch for £500
Good man. To buy from GSF you will need a membership card and number, which may take a while as we have had a bit of a back log whilst we waited for stickers. The EBC discount is via a promo code which is listed in the premium benefits section to which you will get immediate access once you've joined via paypal.
Premium members get a discount at GSF and EBC direct http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com/default.asp http://www.gsfcarparts.com The last rear disks I got from GSF where Brambo so top quality.
No the grill slats are at a different angle. Corrado badges are 'ebay rare' so if you've got one you should be able to sell it on for more than a new golf badge will cost.
I'm in, if they let us back to the Pod. ;-) Although saying that, last Saturday was the first time I've been camping with (No Kids) Dave where we havent been told to pipe down at some point of the morning. :-p
VAG-COM is the place to start. One of the two engine/crank/cam sensors failing kills the spark as the ECU doesn't see the engine turning. Not sure if it's the crank sensor, near the bottom by the oil cooler or the cam sensor near the coil pack. Note: on a pre-95 engine (obd1?) the 00513 code is constant if the engine is not running!
VW will only sell you the whole thing (#13) Go to a Ford dealer who sell them on their own. There is a list of useful part numbers here http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?132303
hopefully nothing show stopping? Was a good 'un. Very cold today though in the wind. Jim Potter had issues getting off the line but put in consistant 13.6s. It didn't all go to plan with DLea pooping his gear box late on Sunday. Thanks to Ben for sorting the stand/garage ;-) and to Craggsy for the proper stylish gazebo. Looking forward to the photos.
