  1. that is good news. the stat housing itself is a bit of a weak point. all the part numbers are in this thread http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?132303
  2. 2fast2cool did us a group buy on them last year. :-) PM vr6ventoessex http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/pm/pm.php?send.3356 if you want a lower front brace. He's had some made up which miss the sump unlike all the others we found
  3. keep off the spirits this time, it's always the same when you dont
  4. really? :-) i was going to offer to drive to dover on mine TP but wasn't looking to drive in germany at all. DOB is xx/xx/xx
  5. those are the pressure release holes which should be controlled by the cap. I'd have a good clean around and top her up to make sure they aren't old stains
  6. if we all arive together is makes danny's life easier, so the current plan is too meet at this tescos: WELLINGBOROUGH VICTORIA PARK, VICTORIA PARK, WELLINGBOROUGH, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE, NN8 2EF at 4 and going from there. if you want to come I'll drop you my moby number.
  7. we all had to start somewhere. come to which ever you like. we are all friendly folks.
  8. I think everyone at night racing will agree that a hand full of cans and half a bottle of vodka was certainly enough for me 8-)
  9. i'm back in. I've apologised that I wont be able to go to his 40th as money is tight. whereas camping will only cost me an extra £4 - a bottle of redbull and half a bottle of vodka. I'll bring the big screen but remember that, when empty, noise travels at the Pod and that the VWDRC enjoy their sleep. ;-) shall we meet at tesco wellingborough - so I have something todo whilst waiting ;-)
  10. fixed the sub title for you mate. rear wheel bearing aint too bad.
  11. I'd say not due to clause 6.1 in the exclusions
  12. I went AMEX on Ben Lovejoys recommendation, on the grounds that a AMEX headed certificate is not going to cause wasted time checking before treatment starts. He claimed for his hospital stay on his after a crash at metzgefeld.
  13. it's under the personal liability section. but seems to exclude car accidents ( point 6 )
  14. it just looks like 'extreme sports' medical cover to me. NO cover for cars! My annual American express policy is only about £30. Many people have sucessfully claimed on AMEX policies after crashes at the ring.
  15. some of the water channels in the VR block are narrow, apparently, and you risk blocking them. Water getting in through a head gasket ends up coming out of the back. well it has to go somewhere dunnit. A little steam is normal but I have seen water pouring out of an exhaust just before the HG went ,big time.
  16. stat housing leaking is very common but wouldn't account for the mayo :-( however checking the oil cooler is certainly a must before jumping to conclusions about head gasket problems. do you have excessive steam, water even, coming out the back? a few peeps are going to throw their hands up in horror over the use of rad weld in a VR but I'll stop on the fence.
  17. worth it for the piece of mind Tony. I still need to check mine has been cancelled. but on a more proactive stance I have submitted all the docs for my CC rebate claim from speedferries. I've got first aid kit, extinguisher, triangle etc for european driving which I obviosuly won't be needing as Ben has offered to drive.
  18. it should always presurize to some degree as the coolant expands when hot. But you should be able to just about squeeze the pipes out of shape. what is the temp gauge on the dash reading?
  19. the third sensor is for A/C control. blue and yellow are what you need. So nothing to worry about.
