  1. VAG-COM is always a good place to start. Are you loosing coolant? Sounds like it might be a problem with the heater matrix. an airlock maybe. but that wouldn't explain the hesitation. Complete head scratcher I'm afraid.
  2. oooh what's one of those then Nige ?? whats what? a cg-lock is a seat belt add on which helps keep you in yout seat ( search is your friend ;-) ) your internal accelerometer is a cluster of tubes in the ear which help with balance and, once tuned, knowing if your car is going to stay on the road around corners
  3. 1) no only comes in stright lengths which need bending into shape. 2) why would you? the point of braided hoses is they expand/bulge less than normal ones but solid pipe has zero bulging,
  4. sunny southend would be my guess ;-)
  5. the little I know of such things suggests that unburnt petrol is getting into the cat so maybe bad ht leads or coilpack
  6. get if off me at spring fest okay dokey I'll let you have a cg-lock as well so you can calibrate your internal accelerometer before we go.
  7. I doubt it. do polo's even have 5 stud wheels?
  8. it's all the stopping that kills us ;-)
  9. poly bushes have less give so tend to squeak in the fixings. have you had the wheels off to see if there is any thing obvious up with the shocks such as leaks or things stuck where they shouldn't be?
  10. a vw dealer or a ford dealer where it's part number is 1022692 - 1.51 + vat
  11. I'm sure Dlea will be happy to give you his professional opionion at the spring fest
  12. any idea whether it has polyurathane bushes? P.s. I'm going to trash your other thread.
  13. have you had it on vag-com? One of either the crank or cam sensors - can't remember which - controls the spark
  14. yep, Danny from VWDRC has kindly allowed the VR6OC to camp. To make his life easier we plan to meet up at a local Tescos at 4pm on Saturday so we can arrive together. gates open at 8:30. I've always found the queue unpredictable. do you have a mate who can help push ya in the queue?
  15. they have their own codes but should have some way of converting from VW #s but I doubt they'd do the seal as it's such a vr specific item.
  16. not stat to my mind. stuck shut would cause it to overheat completly and blow water out of the header tank. stuck open the temp would sit at ~70 on tickover. so main water pump or maybe clogged radiator. disconnect the fan supply and check to see if entire area gets hot.
  17. good quality allen keys and plenty of plusgas on the bolts before hand will help loads. if things get tricky take out the battery to give youself/dad ;-) more space. Do you still have the original spring clips on the hoses? If so you'll need some jubilee clips as well.
  18. But Bex is just how I want her: good engine, colour concept seats and a carbon fibre bonnet on order. Do they come in a TDi?
  19. seems v good value as it includes a crack pipe as well. i think you'll still need this seal ( seal to join to head - 021 121 119A - £2.28 + vat ) as I can't see it listed and it isn't an O ring.
  20. I see youu old vr is still on the drive. how about an engine transplant?
  21. Mmmmm, the more corrados I see the more I want one.
  22. I would recommend changing the whole shabang unless you can isolate the exact joint / part which is leaking but even then fixing that might break it elsewhere. you should be able to reuse your old thermostat but you will need either 2 or 3 temp sensor seals depeneding on whether you have air con or not. entire kits often appear on ebay so that'll be worth a look. P.s. I've deleted your post is the numbers thread ;-)
