  1. does it turn over well but not spark up or is the starter labouring?
  2. Nope, GSF and maybe Eurocar Parts sell synta or the fuchs replacement and filters. I can't rememebr the plug code, but ebay is usually a good place as it;s easier to get 6 rather then being forced to get 2 lots of 4 and prices can be very keen. Unless you've got a problem, HT leads aren't a usual service item. Oil flushes are not recommended at all.
  3. everyone is welcome to come. the last trip I worked out came to £550 but that included 3 nights at a hotel with meals and bar beer along with a 15lap ticket. after that I decided Ididn't want to know! Fuel prices have been up and down since then and the exchange rate is alot lower. a quick break down is in the summer trip thread which is a lot shorter so far ;-) http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?264535
  4. Unfortunatly not, we had these stickers made before the site relaunch and new logo.
  5. E42. Past Spa :-) With maybe a detour to Luxumborg for petrol!
  6. Max Power on tour! Maybe I'm just getting old but the whole idea leaves me cold.
  7. Nope, dragon green is the colour for a GTi. VRs have to be sparkly black. Mat black is a bit dull, lack lustre even. But I'm sure I've said that before ;-)
  8. those numbers match my last run very well, with 90% max torque being available between 2.2k and 6k. Before DLea rebuilt her 90% torque kicked in at 3.2k how many miles on the engine at the time? any work done? I would note that, that torque all the way to red line is peculiar. What is the power graph like?
  9. you're confident on the weather then!
  10. funny that, that's exactly that I thought.
  11. but they are built for it. Red line at 6.9k, she loves it. :-) The biggest fault is the noise, or lack of it but no different to a clio in that respect.
  12. that'll be me then. I run a mk3 16v as my 'daily'. 35-40 mpg is easy enough to acheive. But they can be driven so that the mpg rivals that of a vr, 25 or so if going fast enough to get an instant ban ;-) I calulate that not running the VR for the 10,000 miles I use the valver for saves me enough in petrol money to pay for the valver. if that makes sense! The cam belt should be changed every 70k or so. Engine wise it's not given much bother. Worse was a dodgy relay which cost me a small fortune in unneccessary changes to ht leads, plugs, lamda. Chassis wise, same as a vr for problems, re
  13. there's nothing like being prepared. I just have think back to Easter 2007 to know that!
  14. standard in make or size. don't you run 312mm front?
  15. I'll provide the leccy hook up. And have some emergency brake pads, 288mm front, whatever the standard rears are.
  16. depends on your budget. a quick read through gives the sump at £180+ and the required short lift oil pump another £200+!!
  17. There's a complete how to Audi 3.2 sump thread here http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?219378.post which covers a lot of pros and cons
  18. I'm counting too. Already getting stuff together. I've rescued my gazebo lights from the garden to dry and emptied the BBQ of rain water.
  19. very glad to hear that Abi. Makes you wonder where the RAC get their technicians from *-)
  20. makes sense to me. A rad is about £70 and the fan set up the same, or more, again.
  21. what's the estimated cost of a passenger seat; camping, no driving laps?
