  1. doesnt look too bad, i'm sure a bit of tlc with dent repair can help you...you should see my fender lol .
  2. lol wrong forum to ask wether to keep a vr6. tbh i dont know alot about other car's, but the vr has a refined mature image but still retains its modification scene. keep it m8.
  3. i think i read somewhere on powervw or vwvortex that they had a golf that could do 0-60 in 3.2 seconds (and ofc people knocked the guy for saying it, becuase it was hard to believe). finally someone who has actually used them and has given me some tangable feedback, becuase my parents house is quite close to them. cheers.
  4. okay, who has them, and will give me their home address so i can nick them. p.s i will replace them with geniune normal vw items.
  5. someone here MUST know where to get splitters that look like binliner 's ones. Justing m8 if ur reading this PLEASEEEEEEEEEE tell us where to get hold of them... the rear splitter is what i'm after becuase my current one rubs against my rather large twin square's.
  6. mulbery ofc, the first thing to do is like pete said, look for white residue in the engine bay, to identify any possible coolant leak's!
  7. yep, infact vwvortex forum's have a guide on how to do it, so if u check there and guage how long it will take, u can work it out (buy the parts urself from ecp) based on labour rates at ur garage.
  8. check oil cap for mayonaise and do a fumes test in the header tank. if nothing then do a pressure test of the water system, check radiator too, but u'd usually see steam coming off it. After u've caned it, let it idle over 1 spot for a minutes and then switch it off and leave it over night and see if there's any water spots.
  9. Where the hell do you buy these splitters from the dealer told me to feck off unless i had a part number... anyone got a part number for the front and rear splitters also anyone know where to buy them apart from dealers?? much <3 if u tell me
  10. i had my aux pump replaced, and found out that my main pump was also knackered, check the main water pump pully for rotational geometry and make sure its not wobbling. replacing the aux water pump is not a big deal its about 30 minutes (ofc u gotta drain ur coolant) and it costs about 40 quid from euro if i remember.

    More Aircon

After checking all the threads to do with aircon, i've finally decided to make a thread. I've just had it regassed and had the fuses checked, now i've read lots about brigding switches but i have no bently manual on switch locations and i dont want to bridge things stupidly. So if somone (pete?!) can show a screenshot of an engine bay with the switches pointed out it would be much appreciated. I'm gonna go check the battery terminals to see if there is a lose connection right now.. damn its so hot outside...ffs. Also the manual has quite a few fuse locations for the Aircon, but the 1 im intere
  12. yep so as i thought its just me .
  13. I just finished driving to shoreham (5am start..f00k!) in a hired ford mondeo which had an extremely light clutch pedal. When i got back home (5pm) i got in the car and my clutch feels REALLY heavy, are vr6 clutches usually quite heavy? or could there be a problem with the hydraulic servo since i know its not cable operated.
  14. so the vr6 has a very good braking system, what would you uprgrade if you had standard brakes?
  15. lol, how many sensors does the vrswix have.
  16. ive had my oil temp up at 110 when ive been driving it hard, but usually its around 90 something, nowadays in this freezing weather its not gone above hundred even when its pushed.
  17. yeah it was just a bit wierd to get this weird pedal feel whilst i was braking, it almost felt dead, although the car did stop...albiet taking a slightly longer distance... i ended up using engine braking....(1st gear lol) anyone have any tips for snow driving in the vr? its the first car ive owned with abs.
  18. okay, yesterday the areas near my house were covered in a thick layer of snow/ice. I was quite sure to be light with my braking but even then i managed to get the abs working, but it felt like no ABS ive ever felt, it felt like and sounded like a grinding sound coming through the pedal, yes the car did stop without the brakes freezing up, buti thought abs was supposed to pump the brakes not grind my foot to dust lol. this doesnt happen when im driving normaly....any help much appreciated becuase the car is goin in for a new radiator on monday.
  19. i also used the large grommet about 4 inches below the expansion tank (just un screw it off of its mounts and ull see the grommet). problem is my grommet fell off whilst i was making a hole in it and now i cant get it to fit back on...tips??? lu
  20. my aircone works fine still, its definately the main coolant radiator, its really annoying, do you guys know if a small leak is fixable? or do i have to replace the whole thing...anyeone got a spare rad?
  21. As the subject says.... does anyone know if its possible to repair the radiator, is it safe to put in the coolant? the radiator is the one behind the smaller one (vr6 highline) which has condenser written on it. has anyone had one of these replaced? estimates on price for parts?
  22. imo bmc is a good choice, u get good power increase, it looks good too, just watch the parts needed for fitting :/
  23. crikey, im afraid to have my car rolling roaded, god knows how many problems they'll find with it .
  24. crazy, coppers are very strict now, im looking for a car with cruise control so i dont have to worry about speed limits (i.e just stick it at 70mph and fall asleep and crash into a hgv).
