    Well when i did mine i just left them on and cleaned them up with a wire brush, just be careful around the brake hoses. And just painted, try get 2 coats on.

    Went to have a look at this tonight, and scanned it on the VagCom and it doesn't seem to bring up any faults apart from the ABS. But when scanning it doesn't bring up the chassis number or the other details like montronic etc.. Why would that be. Can you still scan the ECU even if it has been remapped.

    I know this not of any use, but i was thinking about putting on my summer wheels. And after seeing 1st picture, i'm just going to do it looks wicked.

    Oh well, it's snowed here last night. so not sure if i should put the summer wheels back on. At least the coiles are getting fitted.

    Really liking these wheels, not seen them on a Mk3 before looks well. Any chance of a picture from the back just to see how far the ET17 stick out. And have you had your arches flared.

    So what's everyones plans for the easter weekend. Mine are to get my coilovers on Friday. Get my summer wheels back on, and detail the car to get the winter waxes off and summer waxes on. 8-| And then go to the Elscar show, on the Sunday.

    Its sound like your starter motor, there an earth strap that tends to corrode and then breaks off. I would check that first, as the VagCom wont' detect the starter, i don't think anyway. And try doing a search on the starter on this forum, as it is quite a common problem.

    The one ebay with registration ending with CFC has been on sale a few times. Not sure its the same seller or just changing hands quite quick.

    I use the Megs. Endurance gel seems to work for me, but it can be a tad messy. I just apply it with kitchen scourer/sponge pads that you can buy 10 for about 20p. Just use the sponge side to apply all four tires and then bin it.
