  2. thanks i will check that ,it does sound like a slight ticking,can i regrease them or do i have to buy a new one? i did my timing guides and tensiners but didnt replace the chains as vw say they dont need it,i first thought it may be them.
  3. hi all on my vr6 i have a rattle from the left hand side of the engine down where the pulleys are locatted its on tickover and also when you rev,anyone know the cause or had the same problem? coul;d it be the tensioner .any help would be great
  4. hi i have an obd1 vr6 ,it wont pass emmissions has hi hydrocardons,the engine has had new valves leads and plugs cap,rotor arm,its number 5 cylinder that is the problem the plug is getting a spark but when i remove the ht lead from the distributor the engine note stays the same? and changes on all the other 5 leads,but the cylinder isnt burning,the fuel,could this be blocked /worn injector ? ive changed evrything else ,anyone got any ideas ?
  5. just rebuilt the vr with new guides and chains,while it was apart polished the mainfold first time ive done it ,what you recon?
  6. ive done a conversion from 16 v to vr6 the air flow meter i brought had vw part number021 906 461,i was told this is for the coil pack not dizzy ,can anyone put me straight? cheers guys and girls of course
  7. i had brought an ecu whicvh turned out to be fried ,but inside on a piggy back platform was a VSR CHIP WITH THE NUMBER 1267357205 on it anyone know about these chips would it be worth installing in my current ecu
  8. i think your right on that one pete i used the 16v when i done my conversion to vr6 and have good pressure
  9. i done an engine conversion from 2.0 ltr 16v to vr6 and used the original 16v fuel pump with no problems so id get one from 16v mine is a 94 car

  11. i have to change the rear pads,on my vr any one know if the calipers are push im or do you have to wind back in the caliper? if so what can i use to do this?
  12. mine does it only when the air flow sensor is connected ,hot or cold engine ,when it unplugged he problem dissapears,so proberly different to your problem
  13. i unplugged the connection to the mass air flow sensor, and it went fine with no pulling and hesatation.so if anyone has an air mass metor obd1 give me a shout
