Lol, same here mate. Bit worried about only getting a 90 day warranty on them though mate. U dont really want 2 b messing wiv your S4 too much... Dont really want it going "Pop" now do we?! Take it to MTM, i posted a video link on here a while back, RS4 outpaced an M5 (outpaced - hammered)

i got my 1st house earlier this year at the age of 24. It cost about £225,000 with the stamp duty and solicitors fees etc. 1st time buying is a right pain, you need a decent deposit to get any sort of decent mortgage. I ended up with Abbey National. I used an independant mortgage advisor and cuz of my age and salary they were the only people willing to give me a mortgage I thnk! Having to shell out over £875 per month though - Which sucks - Hence why i've still got a very standard looking 5dr VR6!! Its good though, in 6 months my house has increased by at least £25k. I've also got a condo (ap

Could have washed it mate.

I've owned a Volvo T5. 225BHP as standard. You cant drive them in the wet or go round corners but in a straight line there is no way a VR(standard) would keep up with it. I'd pay money to see it happen. I raced many a chav in his VR6 when i had my Volvo and 99.9% of them would have to move over to let me pass them by. I've even embarrased a Porsche Boxster driver. on a straight. All you need is a slight tweak and trust me they are easily hitting well over 280bhp. Also bear in mind most of them are Auto's. Manual ones go like shit off a shovel. Mind you, absolutely shite round twists and roun

Simon, you got some competition versus yours now mate! But dont worry, still feelin yours (the car that is)
-
Andy, what is it with you and bloody Vauxhalls!!!

Mark, i dont know where your based but this weekend in my local autotrader area, there are at least 3 good VR'S for sale. Theres a 1997 highline, ONE OWNER FROM NEW, full spec for £4995. Dont know mileage.... but its... er Black. Also a 1997 VR with Cream leather, 2 owners only done about 45,000 miles 3 door... er in green. Use SL6 2HP as your postcode identifier and it should bring at least those 2 up. I want the black one but no facker is interested in mine!

Dont know about VR's but you can buy "normal" mk3's on an S reg. I even went to see one a few years back. It wasnt an import, but they are rare.

depending on the budget - E30 M3/ E36 M3 Or dare i say it... a Nissan 200SX Turbo? quick and very fun, extremely reliable and reasonably stealthy.... Ok i'll go grab my coat. But i have to agree, MK4 V6 4 motion with Santa Monica wheels do look the business, stealthy appeal, plus lots of power and torque.
-
Assuming it is his car slim!! Seems strange a highline would have the plastic arch kit etc. Best to get the chap to verify the log book, i believe it should state there if its a highline or not. A proper highline would look like the one above your last post "six appeals". Although in that pic you cant even see his side repeaters!

it becomes even more fun to drive! powersliding heaven. i've driven a caterham 7 and have to say they are absolutely the most fun car money can buy. its a hoot a minute..you're gutted if you're fat or tall though! Ah, that counts me out then... on both points. Buggers

mate, have to agree those things are ruddy quick, but dont be a muppet, its a bloody Vauxhall! REALLY, DONT DO IT!!!
-
Anorak... Am i missing something here? Weren't you selling the MK2 cuz you needed cash for your house and bills or something?! ?! And now here you are showing off "that thing"??! Just reading your thread has made my very standard VR6 seem very very very slow!! :@ Nice one mate, welcome back to VR6 ownership (if that thing can be classified a vr6?! ) P.S - How much is rocket fuel nowadays??
-
Mercs are notoriously underpowered though. 4 pot shitters. Had one b4, never again unless its a 3.2 or an AMG of course
-
Evil, what happened to the old wheels? personally i think they looked like the dogs danglies on your motor.
-
nice one geez. Bodywork looks like new. Those wheels are minters as well. Just like what i wanted b4 i ended up with mine.... 5 bloody doors!!

Is 140K on a 1996 VR6 a lot for the engine?
kobi replied to ThermalP4's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Like everyone has said, 140k shouldnt put you off buying a VR6, but just make sure its been maintained properly. Only having 2 owners from new helps. But bear in mind, if the engines done 140k then so has the box, clutch, exhaust etc etc. £3K is too much IMO. More like £2.5k max. Or for another £1k, you can have mine P.S, theres one in the classifieds - 1 owner from new, low miles for £4k ish. Personally i think thats a bargain. -
Nerih, how old are you?! ?! Did no one ever tell you that you never ever thrash a car from cold - unless its a company Ford Focus, 1.6 LX Dont be a muppet. Take care of the bloody thing. Wait for the engine oil to warm up, like everyone has said... check the MFA for that. Personally anything after a temp of about 70 is safe and it will only take about 10 mins to warm it up properly. By the way - you weren't taking the piss by stupidly pretending you rev your car from cold were you?!! ~

21st october?! thats a thursday. Might have to do a sickie from work.
-
er, when is this?!
-
Looks like i'll get the car serviced by Stealth, especially as it looks like i wont be getting a highline - you guys have already gone and brought all the black ones!!! will end up shopping around for the exhaust though!
-
Can everyone please STOP posting about this car!! I'm gonna end up going round the poor chaps house and stealing it!! I think its safe to say - this is the best VR on this site and probably in the UK. !heart I noticed the pics where the car was in the centre of the VR6OC plot at edition38. Deservedly so. Mark - if the sale falls thru for any reason - PM me!
