  1. Simon - DISCOUNT??! Er no i didnt mention a discount for VR6OC. But trust me i will be calling him mentioning it!! Everyone has spoken highly of stealth so i've no problems with using them. Will probably end up using the Magnecor ones as it will be easier to have them done whilst the car is being serviced - Andy the leads werent too bad so i have not changed them since. Also jst had the BMW in at the Synters Stealership - Oil change & MOT - £209! Ouch :@ [ Edited Thu Sep 09 2004, 10:15PM ]
  2. Need sum advice plz. Vince @ stealth has quoted me £200 for a full service (all inc) Seems ok to me. VW is about £290 ish. Is it worth goin to VW to keep the service book full VW? Also Stealth quoted me £115 for Magnecor leads. This seemed high to me. He said he'd fit them at the time of service so no need for labour charge. However i dont believe the leads cost this much in the first place? ?! :? Also Supersprint exhaust £390 + vat plus £40 fitting - ok or not? BMC induction Kit £155 + vat. Any advice/opinions as to whether these prices are ok? Merci
  3. I can tell you that a '04 model SAAB 93 aero (210BHP) WONT kick a VR'S ass, because i literally whooped one this morning on the way to work! Fackin wankster thought i was in a bloody 1.4 or something. Should have seen his expression as i passed him by at 135mph! ( i only did it cuz it was safe to do so )
  4. Cant really offer any technical advice mate - but that cars been a right fackin pain in your ass hasnt it!! i'm sure you've spent more time and money on the thing than its probably worth?! Get another one!!!

    Any Advice??

I almost cried when Mark confirmed he'd sold the car. Wish i had the money to have got it. Hope the new owner keeps it looking as good as it is. Luckily for me i've some lovely pics of it - which adorn my PC screen!
  6. My VR6 is manual. My bmw is auto. Bmw puts me to sleep when i'm driving. VR6 puts a smile on my face when i'm driving. NO contest between the two boxes. Manual always = more fun
  7. where on earth do you guys live? I'm always looking at the autotrader and worried that the prices have fallen too much!! I reckon you could EASILY pick up a highline 96/97 model for about £5k - for a decent clean one.
  8. wish i got hit up the ass and someone offered me £4250!! Mind you mines not a highline. Your motor was one of the cars i always admired minty. I suggest you get a cucumber and shove it up pete's ass so he knows how you felt at the time!!. At least you werent hurt, thats the most important thing. Good luck with getting a new motor mate.
  9. I drove to derby once from down here in Berkshire, i was averaging a speed of about 8-90 mph and got 25mpg. Normally on a tank i get about 180miles if im lucky. I used to think that my MK3 Gti was shit.. that gave me about 30mpg! Put into perspective... a 4.0 litre Jag XJR will give you about the same on a long run as a VR6... VR6 + Fuel consumption = Pretty shit
  10. Mate, i think you dreamt it [ Edited Mon Aug 16 2004, 01:21PM ]
  11. Audi A3 is 18 Turbo producing 225bhp. Not been in one but apparantly they aint all that - as my mate keeps telling me after he thrashed one in his 330ci beemer. Eat this - You must be thinking about the Audi S4, 4.2-litre V8, 344BHP 0-60mph 5.6secs. Now thats power! [ Edited Mon Aug 16 2004, 11:55AM ]

    VR6 Dilemma

Reason she might not be happy about it, is that everytime she's sat in it, maybe she's reminded of things she used to get up to in the back seat .... Sell it mate and get yourself another one
  13. Just the name "bay boy" is enough to make me sick.
  14. Nice one fella. BUT get rid of those "bay boy" bonnet stick ons. They look shite. VR6's dont deserve to be in the "look at me, i'm a tw4t with a Fiesta" class.... imo
  15. I'm possibly* looking for a VR6 highline, pref low miles and late model. Oh and standard. Not something thats been thru max power magazine... yet. **Possibly implying that it comes along at the right price etc etc [ Edited Mon Aug 09 2004, 03:00PM ]

    ooops!

Binliner - I agree with you totally. The Mk 3 Lights are shite looking. Is it a straight swap for the MK4 lights? Or am i just bein stupido??
  17. Fackin hell Simon, stop posting pics of your VR!!! The more pictures i see of your motor the more i'm getting tempted to get rid of my 5dr VR and get a Highline, drop it and then chuck on some big wheels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Welcome to the club mate. Sounds like you got yourself a good'un"
  19. 1) 1.1 Fiesta at the age of 16 which i used to take to school b4 i even passed my test 2) New Ford Escort 1.4 L - had that for 2 years - dont know why but it quite fackin quick! 3) VW Golf MK3 1.6 - needed some wheels for University so couldnt afford anything else! 20. so your going on holiday and spending a bucket load on the motor. Top fella!
  21. Looks blimin mint as well mate, nice one, thinking of getting one myself if i can find something mint.
  22. I've checked in the boot, under the carpet you'll have the spare. Theres no carpeting down there. The only thing there is, is some sort of rubber type coating/lining. It looks like it comes out of the factory like that. Also there is more bar coded stickers with VAG details. I'll assume this means its not been bumped up the back!
