  1. Very very nice, liking that a lot! Simon
  2. What times the convoy going Justin? Still working out if i can make it? Not looking good to be honest. Simon.
  3. Glad to hear you got it all sorted mate, and are still enjoying it! Simon.
  4. Hello, only me! As far as I know VW only did one purple interior, and it often gets called either Blackberry or Mulberry. In some pictures it can look too bright due to lighting and flash, but in the flesh I find it quite subtle especially through the windows. Its not very often people notice that the interior of my car isn't black! I actuallty think it would make a nice contrast to the black exterior of your car. Whe I was looking for my car I actually could've bought a Black Highline for less money as the dealer had both there, but I spent a little more as I preferred the Mulberry paint and
  5. Autoglym cleaner for me too, great stuff, although can be a bit powdery, but the results are more than worth overlooking that! Simon.
  6. Nightmare Claire, especially as its not really the weather to be playing about with cars! (
  7. Yeh, had the front bumper fully smoothed including the lower grilles. Left the central one though as need some cool air from somewhere! ;o) Need to put my other 8" RH's back on the rear so I can get it properly low again! Simon.
  8. LOL, well if I can't make it, I'll see if someone can bring mine up to make up the numbers. Might be able to convince Mangold to bring it up. Simon.
  9. Oil coolers are a weak point too and prone to failure, particularly if the waters not changed regularly and the correct Anti Freeze not used. Hope its just that mate and not your Head gasket. Simon.
  10. Not sure if I'll be there yet mate, hoping to be but its my work party the night before so not looking likely! But really gonna try just for the convoy home! Simon.
  11. MODIFIED Binliner LOL, well thats me not bothering to enter then! What time do you have to be there to enter? Simon
  12. Depends how they have been put on mate, hopefully just bonded so should just pull off. I've got a set of the normal ones for sale if your interested. Simon.
  13. Nerih, I've got smoothed bumpers all round and a smoothed rear end, in the same colour and with similar wheels, so might give you a better idea of what it might look like on yours? More pics at: www.picturetrail.com Username: Sixappeal1 Sign my guestbook if you go on there mate! Simon.
  14. Awesome GTU still have them advertised on there website mate, might be worth giving them a bell? Simon.
  15. Try German and Swedish or Big Boys Toys as they used to have a load of them in stock. Simon.
  16. 2 be honest mate, I'd be very careful using the VW scissor jack, only in a dire emergency (ie. flat tyre) I personally drive mine up onto a bit of wood and then this enables me to get the trolley jack onto the subframe of the car to get a good stable lift.
  17. Only explanation I can think of is the front panels being different then mate, as I had my cable snap on me ages ago and managed to get the grille off and unhook the bonnet with out damaging anything besides a small nick in the grille. I did a post on it on here at the time, as I was as P*ss*d off as you were at the time ( Simon.
  18. Hello mate, I run a Mk2 8v GTI as well as the VR and to be honest I really don't find much difference in running costs (ie Petrol etc...) Can't see that the Mk3 8v would be much different. Think you'll just find it sluggish in the Mk3. Simon.
  19. It is shrouded, but you can get around it with a lever as I did ;o) If the cable itself is all ok, it may be the actual release mechanism itself knackered then or stiff? Simon.
  20. The bonnet cable is a 2 piece item, think you'll find the connector (about half way up the drivers side inner wing) has snapped, as this is what happened to mine. No need to bust the fibreglass to undo the bonnet, remove the grille and then just pop the lever to open the catch. To stop the terminals comming loose, first replace the nut/bolts on the terminals as these often loose there thread easily and so will not tighten up enough, and rough up the poles of the batteries themselves to stop the connectors slipping off. Hope this helps, Simon.
  21. Got G-max kit on my Mk2 GTI, and I've been more than impressed with its performance! Simon.
  22. Baring in mind, Vinces' old car and mine are pretty much identical engine mod wise, I notice mine is exactly the same. I put it down to the lack off heat shield on the Ram Air, so the car will always perform better on a cold day, or when the engine bay is cooler. This is due to the car prefering cooler air, therefore running better and producing more power! Simon.
  23. Not just temperature that effects it though, can be all to do with humidity/density of air etc..... Thats why a lot of the RR's have a print out of the temp./humidity etc.... Simon.
