It could just be the seal on the filler cap gone allowing moisture in or condensation build up.
-
Plugs and mainly leads, thats what caused mine to do it.

Yeh they do Justin as long as you can provide photocopies of the original reciepts for the mods. But they ask for all that info. upfront so saves all the hassle if you should ever have to make a claim.

What year did VR6's get bigger.......????
six appeal replied to Mangold's topic in Bodywork and Styling
LOL, just as I was finishing writing that message to you the Buff Daddy was on the phone asking how to do the upgrade! He needs the 280mm calipers and carriers though, as he wants to keep his 15" RA's, and the 288's won't fit under them. -

Mine have the Porsche adaptors on them which give it an ET 35 which is the correct offset for a Mk3 VR6. -

I have 8 x 17's ET35 on mine and its been lowered on Koni adjustables, I'm running 215/40/17 and have no rubbing on the front or rear, even when 4 up! Best bet is to give Style Dynamix or Montys Wheel and Tyres a call as they have fitted 100's of wheels to Mk3's successfully. -
Do you mean the small electric buzzing sound coming from under the bonnet? I have that too, and it looks like its some sort of electric water pump type thing, on the right around the back of the block.

Just got mine from my G/f for Xmas and finally got it on the car. L8 WVR, got it so it reads L0W VR. Never been a fan of them really had the original plate on my car for nearly 4 years, but now this is on I actually quite like it. Will post a pic up ASAP.

Yeh Monty's Tyre and Wheel near Iver had a few sets in there when I went in last week. Give him a call on 01753 440006/7 ask to speak to Paul, and tell him Simon with the RH rimmed Highline sent you for the best deal ;o)

Justin, thinking about the FK's myself, which version did you go for in the end and how much where they from who? Think you may have to take me for a spin at the RR day to see how they compare with my Koni's ;o) -
If your worried about hot air getting into the cone filter build a heat shield, or alternatively use a drilled airbox. When you drill the airbox make sure its only on the side opposite the engine, so that you are not drawing in all the hot air!

Can anyone identify this Golf Mk3 front grille?
six appeal replied to antera309's topic in Bodywork and Styling

Offical VR6Golf.co.uk Rolling Road Day Thread
six appeal replied to VR6Pete's topic in Previous Events
yeh Mangold will be with me too Speedo. -
Whatever you do mate, NEVER grind the arches on a MK3 Golf! Always get them rolled, as the rears hold the quarter panel and the floorpan together, so if you grind too much you can seperate the panels! What suspension kit are you running mate?

I'm running 215/40/17's as tried running 205's, but the rim just gets damaged on EVERY pothole and bump you go over, look great as they were really stretched on the rim, but car handled terribly, and was always worried about ripping the tyre off the bead when hacking round the bends. 215's are still stretched on there, but give a much better ride, and I feel a lot happier about giving the car stick around the twisty bits, and giving it some welly! (On private roads of course!). Mines been dropped about 40-50mm, and had the rears rolled, but I had to have it raised a bit from b4 when I was runn

There getting a bit of a nightmare to get in the UK now due to not many people importing them (As I found out when some tw4ts tried to car jack me and wrecked 2 of my rims!) They are RH Teckniks, or I think they may also now be called ZW1's? Be warned though due to the fact they are split rims, they cost me nearly 2K with tyres when I got mine . But then thats the price you pay for individuality I surpose! They also do some other great rims too, but most are very wide (mine are the thinest at 8") so cause untold agro getting them to fit under lowered VR's.

Yep I'm definately in, all those VR lumps at full bore........... HEAVEN!
