  1. dude ! my vr6 is automatic ! you didnt say I'm not cluded up on auto's, but there are some that are
  2. yup sounds like that. press tge clutch in see if it still happens.
  3. especially with the new horrible water based paint ! bring back 2pack!
  4. until the car has warmed up, it will overfuel a little which is why its not recommened to run low temp thermostats at it runs the 'cold map' for longer - thus causing overfueling for longer.. do you get any piston slap on startup at all? What colour is the smoke?
  5. I've also seen people 'detail' headlights before on detailing world.
  6. Yes chains and a head gasket maybe but a 2k rebuild?? I did notice the word 'dealer' in the original thread? so possibly? Maybe worth getting details of what work has been done on the engine... Pete
  7. I needed my chains doing at 90k and a head gasket at even less on my first R reg vr6 at around 78k.. Just depends on how good it's been maintained in the past I suppose!
  8. hyrdolic lifters? or your using too thin oil... what are you using in it?
  9. Sound. Dont think I'll bother with 1 day insurance at those prices! I can insure this for 220/ year under classic car policy so might just cross my fingers and hope it passes first time... So close now!!
  10. And what about having no road tax?
  11. Well, I'm not far off getting the vr6 ready for the road... As it's been sworn for over a year, no MOT and insurance. How (inside of the law) do I go about getting it MOT'd? Obviousley Id have to get the car to an MOT station, but then I can't tax it without an MOT and obviously I'm not keen insuring it until it has a 12 month ticket on and tax?
  12. I think both will fit - 76mm will need a bit of a hoof on.. Throttle body sizes OBD1 = 80MM OBD2 = 76MM maybe getting confused, but theres not much in it
  13. Probably doing some stuff this weekend though. new brake lines have come, new defroster cable has come, just waiting for my brake line clip and DOT4 to come then ready to roll....
  14. You probably need the coupling silicon hose that goes on the BMC > MAF...... I think a 76mm bit of hose will do the job. Merlin Motorsport sell them.

Ive got a copy of a masontech one. Not fitted it yet!
  16. Hey bud. I'm actually Upto sonething far less exciting today.... Fitting a new shower lol.
  17. Wowsers. All you need are some skimpy dressed women on the start line!!
  18. We basically choose every month who we should be feature car of the month, so keep those build threads updated :-) I'm sure Helen and Tony will expand more...
  19. Might be worth while pressing that caps lock key matey
  20. It sounds very much like he's dislexic! I have a dislexic member of my family who spells how he says words so please spare a thought
  21. could be a broken tab / sheered cog.. it happened on my corrado, but the reason the tab / cog broke was because the de-mister cable was mashed, which meant it was putting stress on the heater controls... £9 from the dealer for the corrado for the cable. worth taking out your control pannel and see if the bowden cables move freely!
  22. Stick to syntha silver mate!
  23. whos told you to do this and why?
