  2. We have a new website feature and your help is needed to make it useful It is an interactive map that allows you to pin your location to a map, this is particularly useful if: You are organizing a local meet / eventyou wish to know if other members live closelyPicking up parts? see how far a member lives in relation to you!New features will come that will allow us to plot custom drop pins I.E our national events so you can see how far they are from you. At the moment, you need to manually add in your location - or use the geo-location button and it will attempt to determine your location

    Power loss obd2 mk2

Hi guys, I have a 1991 mk2 with a VR6 OBD2 lump in it, recently it doesn't seem as quick, sounds like it's going well but seems to take a long time to rev, possible misfire?? I have search high and low for a diagnostics port but can't find one anywhere so can only assume whoever did the conversion chopped it off so unfortunately no VAGCOM help! I don't know of any relatively local vr mechanics in the midlands and can't really afford to pay pricey labour costs to fault find as I could spend hundreds and get nowhere with bill and Ben at budget auto's lol any advice or directions to a decent

The ecu has probably been put in behind the glovebox. The diagnostics port should be below the heater control panel above the ashtray behind a rectangle blanking plate. It usualy just slides to the right mate if that helps any VR6 Loonibuggy Santa Pod 2014 !

    My Black Magic VR6

Yes mostly expensive downs, look on the bright side, when you've replaced everything it'll be pretty much a brand new car as a sum of it's parts, then hopefully a good few years of trouble free (ish) motoring

  23. Forgot to take pics of the ecu, but here are some shots from the fuse block (which was a pain in the rear to pull out!). It would be a lie if I said "I didn't brake any tabs" while removing it. I had to walk away a few times to avoid yanking it all out due to the frustration.. Also seperated the tranny from the block, pressure plate and flywheel had some hot spots. And yes, I realize that the oil pan is on the floor; I have no intention on using it and have a spare in the event I actually needed it. I will post more pics after I receive some parts that I have o

    VR6 Remap guide

I hybrided an R32 NA map with a 20vt map to take into account the variances between the ECU's (i.e. R32 change-over barrel on the VRIM v's the 20vt SRIM, different cam controls etc) and have the major map areas for them both here. Not perfect English as some bits are just straight from the translator machines but cut and paste is easier than translator! I'll put up some screen shots of fully English translated VR6 maps I have (12v/24v & R32) in the near future if that's of help to anyone? Here are a lot of the main areas you will find when tinkering with winOLS - (the map areas chang

  31. I did a compression test to her and got following: Cylinders (1) 160, (2) 180, (3) 160, (4) 185, (5) 150, (6) 180. So I decided to strip her down and just do a full rebuild. It will have a complete new gasket/ seal kit installed, new bearings across the board, Timing chain kit, gruven parts lightweight pulley kit, and the head will be refreshed with HD Springs, Titanium Retainers, and lightweight lifters. It will also be getting a Mkiv Headgasket to bring the compression up to 10.5:1. Needless to say, I began to order some parts. I will say this, if there was anything good about spending a c

He immediately goes to work on the damaged Rocker panel (which aside from the Megasquirt headaches was the main reason the previous owner sold the car) Goes to work on some electrical issues Then worked on repairing the body gaps! Walt States "amazingly solid...magnet sticks everywhere. TONS of crap primer on though, she definitely wasn't nowhere near ready for paint. " And really goes to town on her!

    Are you a lurker?

VR6Pete, I have been a long time reader (lurker) for over 8 years. In the beginning it was due to me not owning a Vr6, than it was due to the displeasure gained at another forum (stayed away from forums for a while), and finally I relocated and began collecting firearms opposed to working on my car(s). It has been a long time coming, and honestly I don't think I would have become an active member if it wasn't for this "Are you a lurker?" topic lol. I commend you for bringing us "lurkers" out of the woodwork lol. Ok, enough rear end smooching; but seriously, you are a good admin who is actual
