No not that kind you filthy animals! Although being sixers we certainly know the ladies love a bit of extra size don't we? Well, at least that's what we tell the 1.8T owners eh? Anyway, enough jest, just got these pics and details through the vine from a supplier so thought I would share: Supercharged Lambo anyone? Macca!

A mate of mine got a factory mk3 2.9 car years ago, last of the line model, I was adamant that it had had a conversion by a previous owner but the log book and history etc all looked legit. He ended up getting in touch with VW to find out and apparently it was only one of a few, was due to stock levels or phasing out the engine or something.
-
No worries, thought they might have given you a list. Oh and dead times/turn on times are just how quick the injectors turn on and off as they never continously fire out fuel.
-
Added that bit - these are all VR6 mk3 and mk4 V6/R32 injector fitments by the way to show the options.
-
Not quite, that was on the site wasn't it? You should really always get a set of dead times/latency info with any set of injectors so you can map them properly - above it's the turn on time which says 1.14ms@14V - if you look at the list I put up the 750cc Black Ops we use for the mk4 are 0.587ms which means they are twice as fast at that voltage - i.e. can turn on twice as fast and the custom USCAR 630cc ones are nearly 4 times as fast at 0.35ms. Some people will just mash the times on a tune so it runs right and you could get some decent idea from searching for a list like that as to what
-
Dave, did you get the times for those injectors? Ca you post them up so I can add them to the list?
-
Depend's on the injectors too, the 630's are quite old and slow compared with modern ones, I would prefer not to use them myself. I am a bit bias though as I have spoken to 5-0 about this for a few customers wanting vrt one's then these appeared on the market! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-1000cc-Fuel-Injectors-FLOW-MATCHED-VW-Golf-VR6-AAA-USE-E85-OXY-GAS-/261115795180 They look like they've modded/customized them the same way as the ME7 Black Ops one's we use for the mk4's, the latency times would suggest that. However you lot keep going the "money" route and go for the old 630's as them co

I don't think the block is the same casting, I think it might be a touch taller and the studs are different to the 2.8 yes. If you're using the R32 crank and 81mm pistons it'll keep the walls thick and about 3 litre's but if you're going big overbore it'll be questionable as to whether it can handle the high boost you are wanting. One way to find out though! There could be an offset difference too unless that is block differences not too sure, given the price differences between the engines it's rare people will tear one down or build a hybrid for such things so never really had the chance t
-
Either use the 2.8 based everything or 3.2, such a massive overbore will split the walls/liner at the bottom the second any half decent power is made. As for gears, I had a lengthy discussion with KAPS transmissions regarding this that we sell; http://eng.kaps-transmissions.com/products-02m.html Even with all their development and materials there is still a 600-800nm limit because you just never know with boxes. A stock o2m has been used at over 1000hp with equal torque and stood up to numerous 8 second runs so I'd just be prepared to change them every now and then. I also added data o

I was questioning the sincerity of the post given the ebay log manifold and 1000whp statement being the absolute pinnacle of tuning on these engines, your other car sounds like a beast, would love to see some vids. That's a good list of parts there but you're still not likely to hit 1000+whp with the EFR, you'd need a GTX42 or 45 for that although you can build the car less powerful and still be quicker than your other one given the area under the curve aspects. E85 most likely too so overspec your injectors. I'll tell you now though that if you are wanting to reach those power levels you

p.s. As for exhaust manifold, don't think ebay, think Stainless steel, back-purged TIG welded 321 spec steel tubular done perfectly for slaving the gasses on your highly advanced map, cryogenically frozen before ceramic coated. Or in other words - over a grand!
-
Is this post actually serious given what was said? Ebay and 1000whp in the same sentence? I can tell you what you need but don't be thinking about using other engine parts in the bottom end of something to handle that amount of power as it's asking for trouble from the start! As for what you need in general - have an entire good condition engine ready and every mm checked, stock crank can stay, forged everything else and massively modded head - 8-8.5k you can do but with the undersquare engine it's only really for the gears as you'll be flying through them on your SQS or once a week O2M

Remember that Top Gear episode where James May nicks Clarkson's door panel from his BMW estate for a sump guard for his Volvo in Africa? You not got any neighbours you hate? -
Nice work mate, 4mo turbo conversions are getting easier and cheaper by the day for people, real beasts when some decent boost goes through them, go and embarrass a few Porsche owners! With the engine/bores checked etc, it should be nice and reliable too at that boost and more. PM'd you

These are the wig ones too, it's mainly things like the mas cylinder differences and that to work around with the turbo placement with them. Next time we get someone wanting one for rhd I'll get me welder to do a rhd jig. http://wig-art.de/Turbokruemmer--Turbo-Rohrkruemmer--Stossaufladung--Twinscroll/VW/Turbo-Rohrkruemmer-VAG-VR6-2-8l---2-9l---Twinscroll-T4-Flansch-m--2x-Tial-MV-S-WG--Anschluss---Edelstahl.html I've put some bigger pics on the other thread to have a look at the spa mani if you want. http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/47057-spa-turbo-manifolds-group-buy/
-
That's an SPA one, it's incredibly cheap if it is though, that's knock-off price unless it's from one of SPA's main US dealers 'cause SPA do us massive deals but you need to spend thousands of dollars on an order to get anywhere near those prices. If you post the link i'll tell you if it'll be a proper one or not.

Ditto on that - comes off a treat!

Thought I'd put this Group Buy together for you. Lot's of knock-off's about on the market but these are genuine items, direct from SPA Turbo themselves, can be big discount's if I buy ten at least from them or a sizeable order value, so see if any of you lot are interested on any VAG engines. List includes: 1.8/2.0 8V 1.8/2.0 16V 1.8 20V VR6 12V VR6 24V 1.9 TDI 2.5 20V 2.0 20V 2.5 TDI aircooled Here's how import taxes work; Price of unit, plus postage then VAT and import duty - usually 5-6% to add, then it's either pick up from Manchester or postage to you. So - £100 unit price, sa

Can people just clarify what pistons they are interested in - will take all names and what you are after and please tell me if the 24v turbo pistons you would join or if you want stock bore, higher/lower comp etc - discuss what you all want and see what we can do, thanks.
-
Looks like the cheaper of the Wigart ones, all very high quality the SS321's are the best -- I have a trade account with them if you want the full options etc but their large custom vr based ones aren't the best fit on our rhd vehicles, mods are needed. If you are going cast, which are perfectly good and better in many respects for a daily driver, I would stick with either SPA Turbo or Rothe Motorsport/Mallon/Hansen ones.

Hi all, sorry for the late update, mad busy! Few more options and info now; 1. Can get X-beams for the VR6 now, one of the suppliers is ready, need to get about 6/7 of you for them though as they only do bulk buys. This is not the supplier that sells to Skunk2 though but have been around for many years. Price is likely to be around the £50 per rod mark at present including duty/taxes to arrive in UK. 2. Have been dealing with one of my suppliers, SPA Turbo who some of you may have heard of, I can get discounts on single and multiple rod sets now although they currently don't do 164mm one

Some nice work there! Can't beat a nice 4mo turbo for baiting boy racers!
