  1. Holset are very durable, only problem is that the turbine sides are very large due to being commercial/truck based turbines for large displacement engines, compressor racing on ebay seem to mod a few for petrol/aftermarket use though here in the UK but that is what you need to look out for. Yes I have my own company although i'm quite ill at the moment so off work for months and am working from home but I have suppliers from around the World if you want to get a quote and see what I can do for a turbo and many other parts - mainly for UK though as US a lot cheaper due to import duties add
  2. Welcome, get saving now for the turbo kit!
  3. Am thinking about it - illness has meant I can't open a ketchup bottle at the moment let alone pimp slap a 22mm bolt off so looking into home work at the mo and the foreseeable future! I have brown hair, brown eyes, 36 years old, I LOVE to go out dancing..... and when I say go out dancing I mean drink heavily and watch the footy and rugby whilst desperately trying to hold on to my youth and typing up some random non-sense to people I have never met over the t'interweb for their amusement, whilst actually being glad I don't have to go home to look after the kids - like some of my former pu
  4. Anyone got a link to the guys doing the R32 tubular man's on the OC Facebook page? Can't seem to find it and I need to tell them to add bosses to them due to the LTFT problems early R32T tunes had and I need a word. You can hack the ecu to read from one bank to stop long term adaptation but if you're going to pay for an expensive tubular it's better to be able to read from both banks and have them in - plus it helps get a proper mani sorted! One of the reasons HGP/HPA mani's might be good for your tune if you get LTFT prob's; http://www.hpamotorsports.com/product_exhaustmanis.html
  5. You on about the 0-400 S3 R32T? Think your underestimating the speed increase of his gear changes, drives like me! It was also running over 1000hp on the strip and has a lot of subtle carbon mods - still a beast though!
  6. A "hit" for all you VRT boost junkies! 805ps apparently - seems legit!
  7. They are very much undersquare engines, you see all 800hp+ one's all still make peak power at less than 7k rpm, more speed/gearing based for high rpm limit's, love boost though it seems with minor mods - somethng I try and tell those doing lot's of head mods due to cost of doing them! This is it drag racing;
  8. OEM for the win, £0! OBD1 you can do easy enough if you know what you're doing but most tuners won't. The fact is it s easier to change to OBD2 for FI as it is more common and most rare tunes on these are 2. There are only a hand full of tuners that can cross flash some maps, define from scratch the OBD1-2 map/function differences then add the boost controls all on your oem ecu but it's certainly possible! That's just defining your ecu though so you have complete control, on top of that you'd have to set it up to your parts used too - the tune itself - so it all adds up, cost w
  9. Quite a low hp goal compared with most requests I get, 450's usually the norm! GT35R is always the most popular but maybe a bit too big although boost can dictate spool as well as tune. The GT3071RWG would be one but is a bit small for the VR6 and the 3076's are an option too but similar to the 35r in terms of spool. Main thing is turbine, T3 is what you want with low boost set up, 0.63 has good spool but a bit wheezy up top for a VR, 0.82 better but again 3076/3582 similar and a bit more laggier than 0.63, prob 2-300rpm's if that at low boost. Save a GT3076RWG I would look at the E
  10. Do a bit of research for your application too.... these fallacies you hear about "cast pistons rattle less than forged" is nonsense so make sure you choose wisely. Many aftermarket one's will be 4032 alloy but some will be 2618 which give more rattle due to thermal expansion/physical properties differences, in fact I've read some reports that show although 4032 is somewhat less tough and has less overall thermal resilience it handle's the sustained thermal stresses akin to engine cycle loads better than 2618. I would prefer any bore n hones to be well versed in these things in terms of s
  11. Physics, she's a hard mistress to tame! You've gone someway to sort the problem, good spec material with that list so about as much as you can do considering, being in the US I'd keep an eye on the driiveshaft shop for some nice HD shafts in future but at the end of the day it's the shock of slip to grip that exert's the most force on the drive-train so modulating the throttle input to ease the transition would be best, I would assume you can do that better and to keep good pace where the grunt is more mid range than up top, so 0.82 as opposed to bigger on fwd for better modulation? Sayin
  12. 0.63 too small, some prefer the 1.06 but it's more up top - 0.82ar by far the most popular as it mixes low and top end for road use. You can play with it in the tune also, VVT can have a profound difference on spool as too cams etc If you're on the O2A box and FWD then it's where your tyres start to grip that'll shred your box so 4th or 5th gear most likely as it grips. 02M boxes are more durable, you can get FWD conversion kits, Gearbox Doctor can do supports for two of the shafts to strenghten the box, cryo freezing, HD shafts etc - lot's can be done to strengthen the drivetrain but it
  13. It is looking much cleaner, think that's the first time you've changed it since before I originally joined up in 2008 isn't it? Also, not sure if it was entirely the forum, broke laptop screen and could have been pressing something I shouldn't have for all I know, just a few things looking strange and duplicated answers etc. Are the date's showing up in US on these new ones, apparently I was born in Feb and ky_uk posting that last post in 3 months time is impressive! Hey, you never know though..... http://www.sciencemag.org/news/2016/02/gravitational-waves-einstein-s-ripple
  14. I've not tested it yet, if this message duplicates itself then it's still wigging out.
  15. p.s. Knugawa and Mamba are likely to have import duty too to add, still cheaper
  16. Are you aware of import duty etc, times the cost of item plus postage by 1.26 to get an accurate cost to your door if you get ht by HMRC, they're not ball bearing either although some are - rough estimate UK Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Precision-Turbo-6262-CEA-Turbocharger-PT6262-AKA-850R-/120811338187?hash=item1c20eab9cb:m:mLi7RnP4TDhieiXNdiaQ7nA If it's budget, these do well on the JDM circuit, Mamba was Kinugawa's partner apparently.... went south, but same manufacturer's I think. These will have quicker spool than an 0.82ar, nice GT30 sized compromise journal bearing if you ask me
  17. T3 0.82AR - Precision are far more expensive than a 35 if you get the dbb versions. Cheaper one I always suggest a Kinugawa or Mamba although this will only save you a few hundred. Holset is also another cheap alternative.
  18. Not to worry Pete, just thought I could no longer hold me ale.... was getting worried!
  19. Well I was gong to put that Daveyboy but I decided to keep it realistic, besides, Kell's tied up in the bedroom for the foreseeable future!
  20. How come you're selling it so soon? Very few weapons out there like that in sleeperville! Any good video's? As for price, it's a tricky one. People are paying stupid prices for turbo kit's still, I mean £4.5k for a EFR7670 kit is about two grand too much at least for a non intercooled version. The additional labour for head, clutch mods is where costs start to rise which you've got so realistically, I would say about the same cost as an R32 in good nick would get you a sale - somewhere around the £6k mark? £6k for an R32 or £6k for a 400hp equivalent is what I would be thinking. Saying tha
  21. I want to see a video of Lucy Pinder building a VRT whilst producing a "how to" video, slamming the car to the floor then driving over a cobbled road! Not so much to ask for methinks! I'm not so sure about the Facebook side of things either if you ask me, things kinda get a bit mixed up in there, not as well laid out as a forum! My 2p!
  22. Is my computer wigging out or what? It keeps showing threads as unread/no comments yet there are? I also posted a thread the other day and it duplicated what I wrote in the post, so I removed that bit and went back on it again today and it was duplicated again within the post, so I have had to remove it again! Is this like a delayed reaction to the Millennium bug? Only seems to be on the oc though, anyone shed light on it?
