i had a cat problem recently, they kept crapping in my gravel at the front of the house. Got so bad i paved the entire area cost me hundreds. If you do kill one and get caught, you will face the consequences. If you own firearms they will be removed from you permanently. RSPCA can ban you from owning animals in the future. And you would be arrested. Hugely frustrating but stick with a water pistol

Power Steering Pump Packed In???
HAMMER_VR6 replied to vr6_super's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Could it be your steering gear? i have a whinning noise when i turn my wheel recently. Fluid is all topped up, no leaks etc. The noise seems to be coming more from my steering gear assembly. Pump sounds fine.??? -
Have you seen mine for sale in the classifieds?

think adrian flux just made me give up all my hope
HAMMER_VR6 replied to p0u1's topic in General Chat
Adrian flux gave me some silly quote on the phone, Then out of the blue they rang me back a couple of days later. They knocked about £300 off and beat my renewal quote. Put your mum or girl friend on your car as named driver also can knock off hundreds. -
Do I need a spacer?
HAMMER_VR6 replied to oldmandon's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Are you happy with the wheels DON. The wheels will fit straight on without spacers mate, but definately buy yourself 204/40/17 otherwise your speedo will be out. personally i run 195/40/17 and they are quite rare and hard to find. 205s are everywhere -
porsche 911 is the only car i have ever wanted, needed, lusted after. A 993 turbo

Does anybody know if you could get electric mk3 seats??? Cheers
HAMMER_VR6 replied to j933 vrd's topic in Interior
interesting. not heard of electric vr seats. G60 mk2s and rallyes sometimes had them. Take a picture and lets have a look -
They are after market RS4 wheels, i had them on my mk4 in 18" fitment. I bought them from a company called wheelbase. I would try ringing wheelbase or rimstyle. I have had them send me centre caps before, seemed helpful

Has anyone any experience with the banchwerks drop plates that attach to the rear beam. They basically raise the stub axel up so you can run lower without winding your collies down to the limit. also they are available with built in camber etc. My car is low on the back and squeeks alot, if i raise it back up the squeek disappears. also my exhaust sometimes rattles on the rear beam on bumps. So i think these drop plates may be the answer. They seem to be only available in america and expensive for what they are, Has anyone used them, or made there own, any info greatly recieved.

URGENT REAR BRAKE HELP....... PLEEEEEASE
HAMMER_VR6 replied to gavinvr6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
building a new rear axel with all new parts is quite a good idea actually. at least you will be able to build it up in your spare time and fit it to vehcile when able. i wouldn't personally remove the 6 rear beam bracket bolts. just undo the two long bolt bushes instead. you should leave the brackets in the factory position. -
VR6 are 5 stud 5x100. most basic golfs are 4 stud and so wont fit. You need to check how many wheel bolts before ordering

Looks great mate, Shame your picking your nose in photo one. ha ha

KW Variant 3 - Anyone Fitted Them? POV?
HAMMER_VR6 replied to Knightrider's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
They just want your money. If your not trying to achieve a super low stance or track handling. Then why not get standard shocks with some quality lowering springs. Eibach or bilstein or something. That will improve ride handling and looks whilst maintaining comfort. So long as you dont go lower than 40mm standard shocks should be absolutely fine. And with all the extra cash you save you could treat the vr6 to some other goodies -
Strut top mounts...coilover....help
HAMMER_VR6 replied to mikcle60's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Your new ones are exactly like i have fitted. The old ones look like pre 1995 type mounts. If you replace the lot it should work fine -
Weitec GT coilovers
HAMMER_VR6 replied to HAMMER_VR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Couldn't agree more. Fitted my kit yesterday without any problems. Build quality is great, ride is comfortable and they perform much better on poor road surfaces compared to JOMs. Overall money well spent. VW_Owner have you put anything on the thread to protect it from seizing. On your picture doesnt look like you have. Some people swear by grease and insulation tape, but i use waxoyl. -
Done an internet search and the steel adapters i have are from Volksbits and you get 4 strengthened allen bolt aswell. Aparently the cheaper alloy adapters have been known to crack, get steel be safe.
-
not sure they will fit mate. I have 986 4pots with audi 312mm discs and porsche to vw caliper adapters. Adapters may have been from venom bought them at ultimate dubs for £90. You then need slightly longer brake hoses with a banjo fitting.

AUDI A3 problems HELP
HAMMER_VR6 replied to HAMMER_VR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
BUMP -
Non vr6 related obviously but it is a VAG and im sure somebody can help. Parents have a audi a3 150bhp diesel quattro 2002. And it has began to make a strange noise from the front of the vehicle. Like a kind of droning nosie, it appears from about 40mph upwards. I imediately thought wheel bearing, but cannot diagnose which side and there is no play/ wobble in the wheels. Cars has only covered 60,000miles. Could it be something else perhaps C.V joints etc. Thankyou in advance any help apperciated

HAMMER_VR6 replied to HAMMER_VR6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I have orderedmy set now from Demon T. Bloke on phone said the 980kg is for the vr6 and the 890kgs is for the lighter gti models. probably slightly stronger springs to cope with the extra weight. Hopefully i will have them and get them fitted for next weekend ill let you know f there is a huge improvement or have i just thrown lots of money down the drain!!!!!!
