  1. i would suggest using the 12v golf 4 vr6 steel headgasket, just by using this gasket you will bump up your .cr by.5 a good investment since you doing a gasket change anyway
  2. the coolant temp switch is that the yellow switch in the thermo housing?
  3. castrol oil has a tendacy to "froth" at times, no need to worry, once you see oil in water, then start to worry!!
  4. correct found out yellow left, green top and other blue switch... dealers dont have stock so waiting like an idiot for it from germany now..

What are the needed mods for a vr6 box? im having a bolt kit fitted, but on ratio's i have read that a 1.406 ratio works well in third and that a g60 final drive makes for better acceleration in gearing. so whats the secrets gents? spill the beans lol... also where would i find the g60 final drive, we didn't get any g60's in locally here in south africa and cant find it online at a place that would ship to me.. ;(

  7. 1994 model 176 000 on the clock got it for a steal as it has some issues to fix and sort out: holds back - suspect coilpack or leads dont think it has a thermostat in, temp runs higher than normal has an oil leak i must find gearbox syncro's, 2nd gear and 1st fcuked, pops out of 1st and struggles to get into 2nd ;( bodywork is good with a few dings and dents here and there... will get some more pics up of it soon, sent a few parts away to be high polished but will first do fault finding on it and get it running strong before doing any modding.
  8. ok so in order to change the maf to 4 pin i need another ecu to go with it, my question is this, is the 6 pin maf better or worse than the 4pin? i need a diagram as well, i have 5 wires running into the maf, should it not be 6? also if someone has a working 6pin maf laying around please sell it to me, these are hard to find around my neck of the woods. another question if i plug out the maf and try and start the car the doesn't want to idle, is this normal? thanks
  9. when selecting the oil temp its on 160 straight from startup, after i replaced it with a "new" switch, can someone please post a diagram or tell me which wires goes where on the oil filter housing... three switches... 2 front , one towards motor... the two is : Oil pressure switch:0.2 bar(3 psi) -blue body, blue/black wire -25 Nm (18 ft-lb) Oil Pressure switch: 1.4 bar (20 psi) -black body, yellow wire -25Nm (18 ft-lb) now what is the other one? color and wire? thanks gents

  13. hello gents and ladies, some of you might remember me from a while back, i gotten myself another vr6, fitted with 2.9 Corrado motor and custom gearbox, loads of work on it but worth it, also busy with a customers car at the moment, 3.1 12v vr6 with extensive headwork, cams and small mods. my "new" vr6..
