  1. Yeah VR6 tanks are weird. The most I have ever got in my tank is about 40 litres... and it was pretty much past all the red on the level indicator! seems to be a very small tank.

  3. Well I've noticed it leap up from about 27/28mpg to 30/31 on the way to work! Worthwhile gains and it's the same price as other fuels, so it's worth it. Also get a Shell card and you can get rewards etc...
  4. Anyone else notice good economy with this? On my daily commute I'm getting another couple mpg I reckon and I got 272 miles from a tank! Previous best was about 250, so I'm well impressed!
  5. "Play in the Steering rack, needs replacing." I think I need a new rack as well, anybody know the damage for the part and fitting? Cheers!
  6. Hi guys, sorry I have been AWOL for so long!!!! My VR6 is a daily driver - just turned 63k! Shame the bodywork ain't in as great shape as the engine! LOL
  7. Cheers guys, thanks for the responses. Is this likely to be an expensive job? The sucker only has 62k miles on it so it's a bit gutting to say the least. I guess it's not about miles but lubrication and use etc... Cheers
  8. Thanks guys, all good stuff. I will check for that tool and if I aint got it I will get mesen down to GSF! Cheers...
  9. Hi guys, I am going to give this a go in the next few weeks, along with fitting some Dubpower leads. I think this will help with the running and economy etc... Is plugs and HT leads an easy enough job? Is there anything I should know before doing it? I know I need the plug removal tool from GSF, and to do the plugs and leads one by one etc... How do you take off the plastic VR6 engine cover as well? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi guys, My VR seems to be easier to steer left than right does that make sense? It's always been like that since I got it a few months ago, I have since had new tyres on the front and tracking done but I have tried ignoring it but it's definitely there, something ain't right. There's no bad noises, no wobbling etc so I suspect the steering rack now. When the steering is wound on to the right it kicks back quite hard when released, not so much at all when it's wound on to the left, hardly any resistance at all. I think the steering wheel points to the left ever so slightly when you let go as w
  11. congratulations mate! I still don't know how you get that... the very best I have got out of my standard VR is like 32 and that was driving like an old duffer... I think I maybe need a tune up or something...
  12. Agreed I got the Brembo OEM ones for about £70 the pair and got EBC Ultimax (or black stuff) pads for my standard VR, they were £25 the pair. Seems like good kit for a standard car and good value!
  13. I had this job done just a few weeks ago! Bearings were like £17 each, and pads were only about £25 all genuine VW. I got the rear discs done as well at the same time, apparently you may as well as they are all part of the bearing really. Total was about £240 all in, so that sounds like he's a little on the pricey side as you aint getting discs as well...
  14. About 12 hours mate, I'm no games expert though!I loved the first one so much! Like playing an Indiana Jones movie! I believe it was won Game Of The Year, and rightly so....
  15. Finished this at the weekend, it's mint buy it now. Bye
