noggin got a reaction from VR6 Supercharged in Up for sale soon. Low mile VR6 Highline.
No mate. It's spoken for.
To my surprise my son said he'd like to keep it. He's even going to build a garage for it.
It'll be a sentimental car for him when I'm not around. He said to me that if you were to associate me with any car (and I've had a few) it'd be a VR6 with AC/DC on the stereo!
Good luck finding a car for yourself.

noggin got a reaction from VR6 Supercharged in Looking to buy
The car has now gone.
In the end my son wanted it which surprised me as he'd always said it was too juicy and too loud.
So a total of 14 years VR6 ownership comes to and end

Fair enough. I have receipts for over £6000 including 4500 on bodywork. This was an ongoing project cum daily driver. It was my intention to supercharge it after I'd sorted everything else. I've recently been diagnosed with cancer and it looks like it'll never get done by me. I'd like to pass it on to another enthusiast as these genuine low-mile Highlines are getting scarce.
Good luck finding the right car for you

noggin reacted to VR6 Supercharged in Turbo build
I too was looking into Turbo'ing my VR a couple of years ago and spoke to Vince at Stealth in great length about doing so.
Long story short I ended up Supercharging it instead, all I can say is Vince stated that standard internals are good for 400 bhp, mine is standard and is running a modest (by todays standards) 290 bhp.
As Noggin says above, ring and speak to Stealth as they'll be happy to point/guide you in the right direction.

noggin got a reaction from VR6 Supercharged in Post the last photo of your car!
My three Golfs.
Mk3 VR6 Highline
Mk3 VR6
Mk6 R
The R-reg Highline is going for a respray soon, hopefully. This has been my daily driver for four years.
I bought the other P-reg one a few months back to run around in while the Highline is away.
The P-reg needs a few bits to get it running properly. A new coil, Magnecour HT leads and new plugs are bought or on order. I'm going to Redex the fuel system on next fill up. I bought a secondhand front grill to replace the broken debadged one that was on there. It has TT Comp wheels which have been badly sprayed but I might do something with them.
It had been left standing for ages with only 2000 miles in the last five years. The interior was pretty damp and even some mildew forming on the seats. I've had a dehumidifier in there for couple of days and pulled two litres of water out of it! Then my mate gave it a full professional valet.

noggin got a reaction from VR6 Supercharged in Tires
I've just shod my Highline with Toyo Proxy TR1s. Quite a soft tyre but good grip.
My old Tomcat Turbo would eat a set of Toyo front tyres in 2500 miles!!!

Blimey. Have you not found one yet? I'll be selling one of mine in a few weeks time. As soon as my Highline comes back from the bodyshop the other one will be up for sale, hopefully with 12mths MOT.

noggin reacted to VR6 Supercharged in Wanted - VR6 Coolant expansion tank.
Fair point. Just had a look on Fleabay again, the sellers called Boltonbits. sells all sorts of bits/parts for cars.
It does say fits all Mk3 Golfs from 1.4 to 2.8? Worth an email maybe, nothing ventured nothing gained as they say..
