  1. Not for bolts they're hugely expensive from VW, you can get a set off euro for about £25
  2. I thought it had to have as many as it was homologated for if the seats are still present? Like 5 seats = 5 belts
  3. If he's that keen whatever it is add to it lol
  4. The double cam sprocket has the dizzy drive on it too, the correct thing as you say would be to put the proper intermediate on.
  5. Why do you have a single intermediate cog and a double chain?
  6. Just noticed yesterday when backing up to a pane of glass that my brake lights weren't coming on!! How the hell long this has been going on for I don't know!? I chased the fault and everything seemed fine so was puzzled. Then I disconnected the brake pedal switch and put it back together and brake lights again. Wtf? At least they're all working now, though I do have brake light OCD now and am checking them in the reflections of all cars and busses behind me lol.
  7. If you heard her song you'd think that even more
  8. Ha I had all that fun too, went for a foot more loft insulation too then put a raised board floor on top for a bit of storage. It took me 5 days start to finish but the end result is brilliant much warmer so use the heating less.
  9. They def do sell them as I got a new set when I did mine
  10. Now you need to work out which pulley it was, my money is on the tensioner.
  11. The cable could also be tangling in the reel if there's nothing visibly wrong, then you have the choice of either dismantling and fixing or just getting a new one, the dismantling method will only work for so long.
  12. It's entirely possible to get the engine high enough to remove the water pump without undoing anything but the engine mounts.
  13. Bleed the tensioner bolt by putting the piston down into a cup of oil and pump it so it fills with oil and it should apply more tension to the slide rail
  14. They don't have bearings, there are slide rails and the tensioned use spring and/or oil pressure.
  15. Top tip, when I pulled some cheapy ones off to swap plugs the ends came off the leads. You referring to silicon dielectric grease?
  16. It hardly matters that much, you could just use some spacer washers with longer bolts
  17. If looking at changing the box ratios, what about the sixth gear conversion, expensive though, and rare
  18. If your front hoses are banjo fit you won't need to change them, if they are screw on yours is early and you'll need some late vr6 front hoses
  19. Yea! Hella twins on a black VR = instant evil! (Not at all biased in my opinion )
  20. Our boiler died in oct and we got a vaillant ecoPro 24 and the difference has been amazing, we've had the heating on the same as before and the gas usage has halved from our old shitty 75% efficient boiler. Check your current ones ratings and see how much you'd be better off, I calculated 45% and thought I was wrong, but turned out true. Other than that I had a grand on appliances instantly dying hours apart a week before Christmas. If this new year is worse than the last ill seriously consider jumping off a bridge!
  21. I know if you just take it off it sounds like Armageddon lol
  22. I think the higher the sidewall the more air pressure is needed to support the cars weight.
