  1. I replaced the rear ABS sensors today, went with genuine as I had problems with the A3 with non genuine sensors so ended up costing more in the end. It fought me every step of the way, none of the rear stuff has ever been off in my time with it and every single nut and bolt was seized massively, took ages to just get everything unseized. The sensors were also rammed fast in the holes and had to be smashed to even get them out, I cleaned the holes with the dremel so the new ones fit snug but it was actually possible to get them in! It took ages because of this and also had to go get some new
  2. After the terrible Xmas DVD I really hope this is a better series, the Xmas DVD was just awful.
  3. 217000 was the switch over for single chain, if you get the slider from VW yet will only sell you the latest version one.
  4. Don't worry til it goes over 114 sustained. Otherwise it's working at it's specified operating temps anyway.
  5. Not a lot if people do, do they. I see all colours of mk3 with twins and they are still the stock black colour, but it's almost iconic to have the black hella twins regardless. It totally did my head in and mines black magic so wasn't even too noticeable lol
  6. If it was me, it's only a spacer, I'd saw it down.
  7. Well if you're gonna paint them anyway could just get some auto art ones or something then anyway you aren't wrecking a genuine old one. That's what I did cos I sanded down the moulding words and symbols on the front so they were smooth.
  8. Are you gonna colour code your hella twin facias or leave them black?
  9. Bay staying matte black? Looks good. Seems everyone goes for painting the block black, I went for smooth silver so it looked clean.
  10. Ooffstill looks sore and like it's burning hot
  11. The Jetex is 1/4 inch bigger than the milltek, it's pretty big.
  12. Probably, a lot of mk3 headlights even new aftermarket ones have the old style bayonet bulbs, I don't know why they didn't just use the 501 bulbs cos elsewhere on the car they did!
  13. I've never heard a milltek in person so can't really compare, I did put a video up of the Jetex in my build thread doing drive by and revving it'll be near the last few pages.
  14. I don't know about the dubpower as I've never seen it in person but I got a Jetex cat back system for a similar price and I can recommend that whole heartedly it's a nice system and was easy to fit, only took slight fiddling with the reduction to fit the stock cat.
  15. On a normal engine NGK BKR5E from mister solutions about £12 or £15 and they'll last for a long time as they are. I took a 2 tear old set out of mine middle of last year and they looked like they could do the same again.
  16. Mine does in low gear if you floor it, you just have to have a good grip. It can have a tendency to tram line on a cambered road too, only on the standard 205 cross section tyres
  17. Be a man, boil the kettle, few drops of cold water till you can submerge your finger in it bearably yet still hot enough to hurt like a bitch,(lol?) for as long as you can, when it's gone numb from the heat squeeze the hell out of it and it'll give and you'll have the sweet relief. Once you're done squeezing all the nasty out coat it in iodine tincture and a plaster overnight and a day or 2 it'll be 100% again. Tried and tested method by me, I always get infections down my nails from as my fiancé calls it "playing out" with car, tools etc and getting the muck and cuts we all love so much to ou
  18. Come on the best noise is the AMG "63" 6.2 V8. It's officially the filthiest noise ever heard by man.
  19. You hear things like this and you literally want go to a vosa office and punch the first employee you see straight in the kisser
  20. The configuration of everything but the steering wheel (yes and pedals etc) is exactly the same regardless of where the car is from. He's giving you a bit of bullshit with regards to that, but yes it's to do with the near side driveshaft being shorter than the off side

    Tyres

I've had T1R for all my cars for years, but this last set I'm on now, which I am wondering will be my last by the time they need replacing as they are harder to find, don't seem as good, the grip is more lacking in this set, and they are all from the same time frame on the prod codes in the sidewalls. Think I'll be going either vredestein or Michelin next time due to costco selling these so it's cheaper than retail.
  22. Yea that's what I mean, it doesn't matter if it's someone else's car cos they could always have a failure then hit you !
  23. Stranger, family, it all the same if someone gets killed cos their track rod end rotted off or something.
