  1. It could be 1 of the dowels that locate the timing chain cover on, or cover that holds the oil seal on the other side of the the engine (water pump side)
  2. He's prob got a 2.0l crank in there, but still bored at 1.8 or 1.9. Thats what alot of the big boosting 20v turbo guys run. There was a corrado that was almost the same spec, a black H reg 1, any1 seen that? There both wicked cars! I've seen both of them go up the strip at the pod an they're awsome!
  3. I agree with the goth, make sure batt is disconected! There are 2 holes on back of steering wheel, think they are allen headed blots, just un-do an pop air bag off. The un-do the big nut in the middle of the wheel
  4. Have you tried a new senser? Its on the top of the oil filter housing. There are 3 there, its the rear left as your looking at it. Or it might just be the wire broken, as mine wasn't too healthly either.
  5. Check the drain holes in the bottom of the boot lid too, and the seal on the car making sure its pushed on enough
  6. Might be best to have a look in there fella, could be a number of things. Its not hard to strip the door, but it'll be easier to diagnose with the door card outta the way
  7. Try this link mate http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Flocked-MK3-VW-Golf-Vento-Dashboard-Black-GTI-VR6-16V_W0QQitemZ200351346606QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2ea5deefae&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A1%7C66%3A3%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A100
  8. Have you checked or replaced the crank senser?
  9. Sorted mate! Now you just need some sunny weather to test it lol!!
  10. Sounds do-able fella, time to get your hands dIrty! You gunna post progress pics???
  11. I've never examined the Haldex system' date=' but I guess, the 'controller' is an electro magnetic clutch in the rear diff? Hence why you see people unplugging it on 2WD dyno days :-) If it works like other 4WD systems, then you still need some load on the transfer box (i,e, a prop or some wheels, diff etc) or it won't work. Bit like an open diff with one wheel staying still. [/quote'] The haldex is a hydraulicly driven clutch, run off of an electric pump, and controlled by a valve which is operated by a stepper motor. Thats why people unplug it.
  12. If your looking for a set of 312's there's a set on here mate http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?289786
  13. Simple answer is no! The drive to the haldex is directly driven off of the gearbox. The haldex controls the amount of power that goes to the rear, the same as or less then the power going to the front. So the prop will always turn is proportion to the gearbox, never more.
  14. Hey anna, whats with the pic of the clio??? Looks like it was a busy meet! Lovin those rallyes, got a bit of a soft spot for em!
  15. Know how you feel mate, forgotten about mine aswell
  16. If its not workingb there, move down the line. i.e must be from the relay to a/c pump. Can you check for 12v with all bridges in at the wire going to the pump?
  17. Yeah i think thats right. I'm going off this pic http://www.performance-cafe.com/images/171959141a.jpg
  18. 1,2,3 and 5 are all the switch, so 4,6,7, and 8 are the slots you need. 6 and 8 need to be linked, and 4 needs to be linked to 5. Try that!
  19. Me. last year while stripping my engine! I'm not always that dirty!
  20. http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/images/RelayWiringGuide.jpg Basically a relay, 86 and 85 will switch relay on or off, 30, 87 and 87a are switched. Try bridging 86 and 85 on the relay to make it click. Or try bridging 30, and 87/87a on fuse box to make a/c work.
